I Must Be Crazy!!
After waiting to see how I felt 2 days after the 10K and much consideration of a training calendar - I have registered for the Boston Run to Remember - 1/2 Marathon!!!
You may remember me mentioning that I was I was going to run in the 5 Mile Race - which was supposed to be my very first race - but then I decided I couldn't wait that long and signed up for the Cambridge CityRun (and the Zoo Zoom, and Heels and Hills, and Mom's Run). Anyway, last week I started looking at the course map, and the HM course runs along the Charles River all the way out to Harvard University which is such a gorgeous run. Oh sure...I guess I could just wog it on a weekend or something...but I'm feeling so great about my (snail's pace) running I decided - what the heck!! I'm doing it!!
I have 6 weeks to train. Shelley actually helped me decide that I could get ready for it. She said I should add 2 miles a week to my long run, so since I ran 6.2 really slow miles on Sunday, if I add 2 miles a week to my long run over that period of time I should definitely be ready.
To assist in my training, I also ordered the Garmin 305 yesterday. (Thank you Stacey for letting me try yours on.) It looks huge in the pictures but actually didn't feel to bad on my wrist. So, it will help with my pacing and will be great because I won't have to go home and map my run to try and figure out far I've gone.
Okay...time to do some actual work. Hope you're all having a great day!!

Good Luck
Although I don't think you need it. Looks like you have been doing a good job with your running no matter what speed.
I just took up running this year and I'm actually enjoying it.It's very addictive. I havent ran my first race yet but I'm planning on one very soon. ABout the Garmin 305 you will love it! I love mine of corse I'm still trying to figure out all what its capable of but it is a very nice treat to have for a runner! Good thing you had a chance to test drive it first. I wish yuo the best and I'm sure you will keep us updated on how your training is going. Take Care

So, you ordered it, huh?
Hmmmmm.....I love that you don't have to map your runs........
OMG, Andrea, you're on fire! A half marathon??? Wow!!! I'm so super impressed!!! Ok, thats it. I'm gonna do the Napa to Sonoma in July. If you can do it, I can do it! Its only another 6.8 miles and you're already trained for the 10K, so 6 weeks is plenty of time. I'm so glad that what I said helped you decide! :)
If the San Antonio thing doesn't work out, maybe theres some race in Boston that we can come do instead! :) Running to Harvard sounds heavenly.
Are you rested up yet? Hope so! You sound pumped.

Jealous
Okay, I admit it, I'm SO jealous of your weekend trip. Looks like you ladies had a BLAST. Some day I'll hop into my car and drive the 5 hours down to your neck of the woods. We'll have a glass of wine and chitchat, maybe run a 5K (or I'll watch you run one - LOL).
Angel
PS Go Habs Go!

If you thought I was jealous before!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, what I wouldn't do for a Garmin. I considered buying one w/ my tax incentive check; however, my 1910 Fridgidaire oven went out a couple of months ago. Probably should invest, for my son's sake, in a future w/ frozen pizzas in his sites.LOL
You lucky travel girl w/ a Garmin!
