Travel Girl Shows Why The Scale Doesn't Matter
As my loyal readers know, I've been stuck in the 190's since the end of October, mostly between 194 - 198. I was down to 192 before our trip in December, but that's the lowest and I haven't gotten back there yet. Well, take a look at the pictures below. Even if the scale isn't moving, I have lost inches and clothing sizes, and the proof is below. The photo on the left is from January and the one on the right is from last night.

Yes, those are my size 10 jeans!
So, don't be discouraged if the scale isn't moving. Keep eating right and most importantly keep on exercising, because a toned body is a smaller body!

Amazing! I'm so freakin' proud of you. Keep it up!!!!

WOW!!!!!
HI there Andrea! Thanks for your comment-you're totally right. Why do we get wrapped up in the scale so easily? You look absolutely bloody amazing girl! You also look happier and more comfortable in your skin.Keep up the excellent work Andrea-you're my weight loss idol!

woo!
Andrea - Thanks so much for sharing these photos. You are looking awesome, girl! This really proves that it's not the pounds that matter, but the way your clothes fit and the way you feel. Those size 10s are looking pretty smart! Plus you look really happy, which you should be! Take care.

Wow, just wow!
You look amazing! That is proof that the scale does not tell the true story! Hooray for you!
03/17/2008 10:41
You are looking fantastic
Good work with all the gym stuff, you have really been dedicated. It really does make a difference. Pretty soon you will have to go on Oprah to tell your story. Good luck with the work stuff, Bear Stearns for $2 a share, who would have thunk it.

Damn!
Look at you hottie! And I'm glad you showed people the REAL results and why the scale doesn't matter! Too many people get too wrapped up in that device! You look great!
03/17/2008 13:24
Amazing!
Who'd would have imagined?! (Ok, a trainer, maybe.. )
I'm amazed by the difference 2 months have made. Even your face looks thinner! You've definitely got some weight redistribution happening there - dense muscle tissue's taking over where the fat used to be, and 'burning' it from other body parts, as well. You're going to be a size 2 by the time you hit goal! Way to go!!

WOW!
you look AMAZING!! keep it up!
03/18/2008 13:22

Wow! Travel girl is melting away! The highlights are very flattering--you look so young and spunky!
03/19/2008 14:51
WOW!!
I'm so sold on inches verses the scale it's not even funny, and I have been that way for quite some time. You have valadated that I am on the right path. Thank you!
You really are amazing, you know that don't you?
WOW, WOW, and WOW again!!!
Look at your tiny legs, and look at your butt lifting up!!!!
woo hoo!
GREAT JOB!!!!

Hey again
Thanks for stopping by the other night and telling me what a compound exercise was. When I was typing it, I KNEW you would know.
Thanks again!
Glad you are enjoying doing push-ups too. I love how readily available a push-up is. You don't need a fancy aparatus, a dvd, to go to the gym, anyone to show you something special, nothing. You just "drop and give me 20". Love it!! I am doing mens push-ups. When I mentioned on my blog the 25 (womens) that meant when I do 25, it's womens. When I do 10-15, it's mens. I haven't even attempted 25 mens. Am quite certain that will be awhile coming.
Last night I was having fun starting off in womens, then "popping up" to a mans. You are right, it takes serious core strength, and that is something the QUEEN of the plank should have no problem with.
I'm working on that one too. Am dreaming of the day I do a push-up, look down my shirt, and NOT see my belly hanging down. THAT will be a glorious day.
Also....I wanted to make sure I ask about your family. We are getting a lot of rain over here in Dayton, and mom says they are too. (she lives just below Woodsfield) I know Cambridge is prone to flooding, and was just wondering if your family is getting a ton of rain? Hope not, and am hoping the waters are staying low.
Well, I should get going. Thanks for stopping by. Keep up the great work. You really do look awesome!!!

Oh yea....since this isn't long enough just yet,
I thought I would share some words from a fellow blogger. Think she is RIGHT ON with what you are showing in your blog today.
"Here's the thing, tho...I'm working on a diet/exercise plan in which your scale weight is viewed as the number least worth tracking. The scale won't tell you that you've lost 4 inches on your waist, or that your body fat % has dropped 5 points (and don't believe those scales that claim they can!) or that you can bench press twice as much weight as when you first hoisted a barbell. You can have all those things I just listed happen simultaneously and never lose a pound. But you'll still see the difference on your body, because every pound of blubbery fat you've lost, you've replaced with a pound of sexy, lean muscle. "
Tha'ts what you are working on....sexy, lean muscle.
Take care Andrea!

OMG
that's it....I'm hitting the gym tomorrow....or jogging....no more excuses....shopping for 6 hours....is no excuse (that is the one I used today)...being sick is no excuse......that is the one I used last week. If those pictures don't inspire me....nothing will!
03/22/2008 09:02
Wow!
I'm very encouraged by that! My number has'nt gone down but my pants feel better... I guess I should take pictures and in a few weeks take another one like you did....
But thanks for posting that! I keep saying that I feel better so it doesn't bother me but it kinda does.. i want that number to be smaller!
=)

OMG
You look younger now than you did in the first picture! WOW!!!! Your hardwork is showing up in soooo many ways...your eyes look brighter, you are obviously smaller and have reduced your body fat, and you are just beaming! You show us all what this journey is REALLY about and that's becoming the best YOU!!! Thanks for sharing this and giving us all a reality check about that scale!
Hope

Super
You look so terrific! Congrats on not being hung up on the scale-- I threw my scale AWAY recently and committed to 4 weeks of solid JC menus. I know it will be a success. Keep on trucking- you look terrific and sound terrific, you've accomplished great things and will keep on going!
03/27/2008 12:52
Wowsers
That's one heck of a difference in such a short time, and with no weight loss per se ...that's gotta be some muscle forming under there :)
Good luck with the runs :)
