Email Notifications Fixed!

First of all, thank you to everyone who kept us updated on this problem. We are delighted to confirm that this issue has been fixed!

It appears that one of the EP servers had been blocked whilst others were not. Our development team have managed to unblock the problem server and all the emails that we had been trying to send should have now been delivered.

It has taken me until today to post as I too had a mountain of old EP emails to respond to :)

Now not only can you add pictures but also video clips from You Tube.

Notifications, Security Numbers and Email Addresses

Hi Shelley,

Glad you like the pics in posts. Here's the latest on the other issues that you have commented on in response to my last post:

1. Email notifications
The reason why you don't always receive email notifications is not because we aren't sending them. It is because email providers are blocking the emails we send. Due to the huge amount of spam mail that is now sent email providers (eg hotmail etc) have ever more aggressive strategies for combating 'unwanted' mail, which we have no control over.  Unfortunately our email notifications appear to often get mistaken for undesired mail. We are currently trying to find a way around this so that the notifications service is a reliable one.

2. Security codes
Our latest software update went live on Monday which we think will have solved this problem. As our development team are not experiencing this error it has been very difficult to test whether the issue has been solved. Please, we still need your feedback to let us know if we have more work to do.

Ref 1 and 2 above - we understand how frustrating these issues are. This site is designed to help our members support and motivate each other and easy flows of communication are essential for this, which is why we originally created these features.  The internet is an ever evolving place and subsequently our team are constantly encountering new developments that require new ways of working. I can assure you that the Team are working hard on these problems :)

The email address shown when you receive an email notification has been changed to this to ensure our members’ privacy is protected.  When a new user signs up we state that their email address will remain private and it’s our responsibility to adhere to this. You will see that where a user can choose which address to enter, eg the ‘Contact Me’ form we have not defaulted it to an extrapounds email address.

I hope that helps give you and others members a good idea of what’s going on here at EP.
