Stones and Enjoying the Hunger

Thank you everyone, thank you

Stones - there are 14lbs in each stone.  I like having the stones as there's something nice about jumping down that number, although there's also something nice about going into the next ten bracket when counting in pounds hehe

I'm getting used to feeling hungry in the afternoon.  Yesterday, once I'd finished work, I had an hour and a half before dinner and so sat cross-stitching feeling the hollowness.  It was not a desperate growling but it was a hollowness.  I am becoming more aware.  I guess what I am really enjoying is the exercising of control.  I can see why some become anorexic, although that is seriously not something in my makeup so no worries - I don't see myself enjoying the hunger that much.

Here's to another day of healthy eating and hitting the Wii and treadmill.

Have a great day everyone *hugs*

EDITED: Whoops, sorry - typo - me bad

Cross stitch

Hiya

I do cross stitch and knitting, but I still manage to snack. I'm going to do what you suggest and see it as a kind of control feeling by not snacking when I feel v hungry. Think it's just habit anyway. Do you find the craft thing helps you?

How does the Wii work?

cats

Hiya

I know what youo mean about the cat on lap syndome. I've got a cat (did have two but they passed on to Happy Cat Heaven and I've taken in a stray) and he loves my lap. It's hard to knit with a cat on your lap though cos he thinks the wool is there for his benefit!!! LOL

Take care

P.S.

Add me to your friend's list if you would like to.

Great!

I think it's great that you are listening to your body and recognizing true hunger.  However, just remember, there is nothing wrong with a healthy snack.  In fact, eating five or six small meals a day helps to keep your metabolism and blood sugar regulated.

Gallbladders are for chickens...

Or at least I find myself eating more chicken! LOL

I have had three full blown attacks. They suck and while I am in the middle of it I don't know if I am going to make it out alive... or my husband alive for that matter...

Really I have only had  those three attacks and like yours they are totally random. I know what I ate each time though. Because I had an ultrasound to see if there were stones (which there were not), I had to have a HIDA scan. I never felt twinges until I had my HIDA scan. Ever since that dang test, anytime I eat something my gallbladder doesn't like but doesn't HATE I have twinges.. and they just seem to be related to my weight loss.. but I have to lose weight, so we will see...

Thanks for the comment its good to know that someone else out there knows what this is all like.

Good Work Buddy!

Sounds like you are on track!

Keep up the great work!

Tracy

snacks?

Do you add low calorie snacks inbetween your meals? They might keep you going without adding a lot of calories to your day.  Maybe a piece of fruit or a low fat yogurt.  I am so there on getting control of the food and getting the feel of what your body is honestly telling you. Man, some days I have to acually think about if I am hungry FOR REAL or my 'mouth' is hungry.

You have a great week!!

Heather

Thanks for idea and info...

Hi, I love the idea of cutting up fruit, I bet it would help me feel like it's a meal. Does something for the psyche, I'd think. I am challenged about any weights/measures other than U.S. ft, inches, lbs. etc. (they some times give me trouble, too. LOL) Thanks SO much for defining 'stone'! Suse
