Why can't I do this :(

Right, I'm going to sit down tonight and give myself a good pep talk.

The reasons for just eating less are many nevermind those for losing weight:-

  1. Less gallstone pain, if any.
  2. Less acid reflux.
  3. Feel better and lighter - no bloat.
  4. No aching joints, etc.

In my life, I have given up smoking and even hard drugs, and here's me now unable to give up unhealthy food.  Surely if I can work through a heroin addiction I can manage food.  But food is necessary, sigh!  It's legal and socially acceptable and is even a great social activity - perhaps that is the problem.  Plus there's the survival instinct - food is essential for life.

But I can control those primitive urges - I can stop myself overeating.  We are not cavemen - there's no need to eat when you can as it is always available.

Right, tomorrow I shall be strong

hi there,

sounds like you have yourself a plan.  But now, you need a plan to stick to the plan!!  Once you stick to it, you will see how much happier you are.  If you can kick the drug habit as you have said, you can do anything.  Food is a drug for some people, but remember.... you are eating to live, not living to eat!

Good luck with everything, and I will check in to see how it is going.

Just thought id pop say hello i cant sleep :(.

You must have strong willpower to kick a habit like that so tranfer that willpower onto the diet. 

What i do to stop me eating everthing (bearing in mind this went wrong and i ate a fridge worth of shit at the weekend), but i dont make any foods forbidden, i feel like as soon as i put the label on that "I cant eat that" than i want it 10 times over so i try to have treats in moderation :)) it worked for me the first two weeks then last week it was binge heaven lol hmmm,,,,i must find that balance.
