ARGHHHH....

....more self deprecating involved.

I promised myself that I'd be on the wagon and stick my lard arse right on it, but I fell off it from Weds - Sunday. I've resolved not to weigh myself until my WI day of Wednesday (I'm crafty and usually weigh myself every other day) and I'm hoping that I'll stay the same - I think I'd be very lucky if I've lost anything this week!

It's 7pm here in the UK and I've just had my dinner - I've stuck to it all day today and haven't managed to do any exercise - I am so tired it's stupid! I think I have gastritis at the moment, I'm having to stick to fairly bland foods and no alcohol which is fine - I want to give it up anyway as it'll help the weight loss hopefully. I'm not that interested in it anymore anyhow - I've drank far too much in the last few years and it's about time I cut down completely.

Anyway, I'm going to do my breakdown today as I don't plan to eat anymore, bar like a rich tea biscuit.

Breakfast; 1/4 semi skimmed milk - 1pt, rich tea - 0.5pts = 1.5pts

Lunch; cracker with spread - 1pt, wonton soup - 1.5pts, 1 slice of bread - 1pt, WW Swirl Pot - 1.5pts = 5pts

Dinner;  cracker with spread - 1pt, walkers french fries - 1pt, chicken noodle slim a soup - 1pt (this was all about 4-5pm - major cravings!), rich tea - 0.5pts, veggie chow mein (tofu and noodles with veg and soy sauce) - 5.5pts and WW Swirl Pot (again, damn!) and a chocolate WW slice - 3pts = 12pts

TOTAL - 18.5pts/25pts (I'm probably going to be having a rich tea later)

Activity - none :( I aim to amend that tomorrow by walking loads around the city and then maybe a swim?

Anyway, I'm dropping off and I really need to just have a bath I think and chill out!

SHOOT ME!

Argh. When I restarted the diet I weighed 16st 10lbs. A week later I weighed 16st 3lbs.

Wednesday I decided I should have a small day off - not count points but not go absolutely mad. Technically, food wise, I didn't. Alcohol however....blergh. I drank about 10pts worth of wine. And I was very, very drunk. Oh, and felt crap yesterday. Very crap. So because I felt crap, I ate what I wanted. Again, I didn't do a blow out, but I didn't point.

I weighed myself this morning and I was 16st 4lbs. Which isn't too bad after my damage limitation of two days. I've done bits and pieces of exercise so it's not all lost (I had to go for a walk yesterday as my head was full of...crap) but BLERGGH! Not only did the consumption of wine make me feel ashamed but just the two days of no pointing.

Anyway, back on the wagon now. I still feel a bit sick (two day hangover, grand) but it's my own fault. Am going to go for a long walk today to clear my head.

Hmm.

I find it hard to come up with the motivation to fill this in, I have to admit!

On Sunday I had a really good day initially, and then over dinner was sort of forced to eat more - I was adamant but my Mum said one day wouldn't harm and I stuck to pretty basic foods (bar the piece of carrot cake) so didn't have a complete blow out. Still, I didn't feel great doing it and felt guilty afterwards.

Anyway, Monday was a better day and I limited myself a little bit to accommodate for the Sunday overeating.

Breakfast - 1/3 skimmed milk - 0.5pts, 2 x rich tea - 1pt = 1.5pts (I'm finding it really hard to eat breakfast at the moment)

Lunch - 2 x slice of bread - 2.5pts, spread - 1 pt and BNS, red pepper and soft cheese soup - 1pt = 4pts

Dinner - 200g chicken - 3pts, sharwoods thai sauce - 1pt, sheet of sharwoods fine egg noodles - 3.5pts, onions, courgettes and leeks - 0pts, misc (i think i nicked an oven chip) - 1pt, WW toffee swirl ice cream - 1.5pts and rich tea - 0.5pts = 10.5pts

TOTAL - 16.5pts/25pts

Activity - 3pts earned by 40 minutes of brisk walking.

I might as well blog today because I'm not going to be eating anything else today!

Breakfast - 1/3 skimmed milk - 0.5pts - half a banana - 1pt = 1.5pts

Lunch - 2 x quorn burgers - 1pts, 2tbsp ELF mayo - 0.5pts, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onion - 0pts, 1 egg - 1.5pts and WW fromage frais - 1pt = 5pts

Dinner - walkers french fries - 1pt, 2 x rich tea - 1pts, 2 x quorn fillets - 1.5pts, sharwoods fine egg noodles (again!) - 3pts, tinned tomatoes, courgettes, soy sauce, curry powder - 0pts, 80ml gin (accidental, ended up having to drink the boyf's) - 2.5pts (argh), WW swirl ice cream - 1.5pts and probably a rich tea later on - 0.5pts = 11pts

TOTAL - 17.5pts/25pts

Activity - did a 30 minute brisk walk = 2.5pts

I'm finding it hard to eat all my points up at the moment, mainly because [TMI]I've not pooed in 6 days[TMI] and I'm feeling full. The scales show a loss of about 5lbs, which is normal for a fairly overweight woman embarking on a weight loss programme in the first week, but I'm kind of hoping it'll be more when I actually...you know...go!

Hello? ;)

I feel like I'm talking to myself. Which I sort of am. If anyone is reading don't be afraid to say hello!

I'm finding it hard to draw the enthuaism to write in a diary and everything I eat, but I know ultimately it's a good thing and it'll be threputic eventually. Also when I've lost the weight it'll be interesting to go back and have a look.

Breakfast - 1/3 pint of skimmed milk - 0.5pts, rich tea biscuit - 0.5pts = 1pt

Lunch - packet of french fries - 1pt, 1 serving of Butternut Squash and red pepper soup (WW recipe) - 1pt, 2 slices of bread - 2.5pts with spread - 0.5pts, 1 pot of WW fromage frais - 1pt and jelly - 0pt  = 6pts

Dinner - Curried Quorn and Potato Pie - 4pts with 0 pt veg, WW Ice Cream - 1.5pts and a rich tea at about 9pm - 0.5pts = 6pts

TOTAL - 13/25pts (very bad I know!)

Exercise - I did 40 minutes of swimming which earned me 3 Activity Points.

Today I've not really done any exercise beyond walking around - I went to go and see a flower show with my family and was convinced to have something to eat (I'd prepared a salad but my family insisted it would be rude to eat it in a restaurant) - I wanted a turkey salad but my Mum insisted we were having salad tonight and why didn't I have a jacket potato? So I had one of those. With no butter, and beans (all the others were mayo filled or cheese filled) with salad and no coleslaw (my favourite...sob!) - it was a fairly large jacket so I've pointed the whole dinner at about 9pts - I think that's a little excessive but I'd rather overpoint that under point! It comes up to about 6.5pts on the points tracker but I couldn't weigh the jacket potato so I don't know if the weight was right and I didn't know the nutritional value of the baked beans so basically stuck another 2.5pts on there on top (plus I had the tiniest bit of cake imaginable!).

Anyway, I've got some new Sims games and am feeling far too tired to go out for a cycle today so am going to have a relaxing Sunday! :)

Things you love and hate...

...X Factor is one of them. It is sort of like American Idol, except they do things like groups and age categories etc. Except Britian seems to think they can sing. When they can't. It's really quite funny. There is currently a woman on there with no intention other than to tell one of the judges that she loves him.

Anyway, onto more pressing matters. Yesterday. Good day. I went for a 40 minute brisk walk to the farm shop for some more vegetables (very good of me!) mainly for dinner. Breakdown as follows;

Breakfast - 2 x rich tea - 1pt, skimmed milk - 0.5pt = 1.5pts

Lunch - 2 x healthy living bacon rashers - 1pt, 2 x slice bread - 2.5pts, tbsp ketchup - 0.5pt, 1 large egg - 2pt, spread on the bread - 0.5pt, jelly - 0 pts = 6.5pts

Dinner - 2 x rich tea - 1pts, walkers french fries - 1pts, curried quorn and potato pie - 4pts (my own receipe, if anyone wants it I'll put it down here) plus loads of 0 pt veg, 1 small gin - 1pt, 2 med glasses of white wine (in fact, they were small, but I've pointed them at med) = 11pts

TOTAL - 19/25pts

Activity - As said earlier, did a 40 minute brisk walk which earnt me 2.5pts. I did toning exercises in the morning but don't count them.

Today I've eaten sod all - 12.5pts out of 25pts *pullsnaughtyface* - I didn't have breakfast and then only had soup and some bread for lunch and then the quorn pie thing with veg again for dinner with a WW dessert and some yoghurt earlier at lunchtime. I also did a fair bit of swimming today so I should probably go and eat something more - it's 8pm here in the UK though and I don't like eating this late!

Anyway, I'll probably have something else later on so I'll update my breakdown tomorrow.

Hope it's all a good day for the dieters out there! :)

Measurements.

I decided to take some measurements today of my body - weight doesn't always reflect how well you are being active and fit and if I'm loosing inches I'm not that fussed about loosing weight - the inches are more important to me! It is sort of scary putting them up against my boyfriend - for example my waist is 40", his is 28" :( It's really quite depressing, I remember my waist being about a 26" when I was really skinny!

Anyway, my measurements are as follows;

NECK - 15"

BICEP - 13.5"

ARM - 10.5"

CHEST - 47" (might explain the 36FF boobs I have!)

WAIST - 40"

HIPS - 47"

THIGH - 27.5" (about the same as C's waist...sob!)

CALF - 16.5"

BUT....the place I really want to loose weight from is my stomach. That measures in at a whopping 48" :( So that's the thing I really need to monitor most of all.

Anyway, I thought I'd just come along with that - I'm feeling fairly tired today (no breakfast...silly Becca) and have been told I shouldn't drink so much diet coke as it can slow weight loss so I'm in turmoil what to drink - squash usually has pts in it (with the amount I drink) and water...it bores me unless I'm really thirsty! I've also been for a 35 minute quick walk to the farm shop for vegetables, not very long I know but we were walking at a very quick pace!

I'll update this with my food later on today/tomorrow - I'm seeing my friend tonight for a drink (of diet coke) to discuss a fitness regime, he says he needs to loose a bit of weight so game on!

I'm running out of titles...

...any ideas?

I had an ephipany yesterday evening. I mused over what I could do to motivate myself more in this pursuit at being slim. Short of going to WW meetings (and I'm debating cancelling the online membership and going with the £15 or so pounds for meetings for a month plus e-source) and getting motivation and ideas for weight loss from a leader/other members (which I think I might do when the online membership runs out at the end of September) there isn't much beyond inspirational stories you read in the magazines and the members on the forums. That's all brilliant, but how does that help me personally?

In light of the above I decided to do this weight loss originally for my boyfriend. Now I'm going to do it to raise money for my local nursing home where my Mum and Stepdad work. They desperately need a new Minibus for the residents so they can go on trips and have a better quality of life, and it would also go towards some equipment too like hoists etc. I've started a group on Facebook to invite my friends to sponsor me - but I'm having teething problems - the nursing home isn't a charity and I'm not sure how I could do an online sponsorship form where people can pay via a website. I know justgiving is one of them but they require a registered charity! Doh. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to know them! I'm thinking of setting up a paypal account where people can sponsor me via.

Anyway, breakdown today;

Breakfast - 1/3 skimmed milk - 0.5pts, 2 healthy living bacon rashers - 1pt, one slice of wholemeal bread - 1pt, tbsp of ketchup - 0.5pt and 2 rich tea biscuits - 1pt = 4pts

Lunch - prawns - 1.5pts, small chicken breast - 2pts, 2 tbsp of low fat mayo - 0.5pts, lettuce, tomato and spring onion - 0pts, apple - 1pt and marshmallow thing - 2pts = 7pts

Dinner - walkers french fries - 1pt (about 5pm!) 3 x quorn sausages - 3pts, potatoes - 2pts, broccoli, leeks, cabbage and courgette - 0 pts, WW ice cream - 1.5pts plus 1pt for spread and a tiny weeny nibble of pizza (which i doubt was 0.5pt but still!) = 8.5pts

TOTAL = 19.5pts/25pts

Activity - I did about 20 minutes of very quick walking - I'm still inputting it into the activity calculator to see what it says but it's being dog slow! Ah, it says - 2.

Black Coffee.

I'd forgotten how much I liked it - I don't really drink coffee very often and don't want to get into a big habit of doing so but I've had two cups today and enjoyed them both!

Today is my first day back and I'm feeling fairly good. A bit hungry, but it's funny the way my mind works - if I'm eating crap I'll feel and think I'll look crap, but if I'm eating well, I feel much better. After a week of dieting last time around even though I'd not really lost that much visible weight I felt so much better.

I've also decided that to motivate myself to do this I'm going to organise a sponsored "slim" - I've set a target of 3 stone between now and 14th Feb which I think is doable (going by the 2lb a week rule I should have lost that and then some) and the money can go to the mini bus my local nursing home so badly needs (my parents work at the nursing home so it's close to my heart!). Part of me feels I should do it for cancer or something a bit more...serious, but I know the home needs this bus very badly in order to liberate the residents who live there, so it's all par for the course.

Anyway, today I've eaten;

Breakfast - 1/3 skimmed milk - 0.5pts, rich tea - 0.5pts (I wasn't that hungry this morning) and coffee - 0pts = 1pt

Lunch - packet of french fries (about 11am!) - 1pt, asparagus spears and french beans - 0pts, green lentils - 0.5pts, prawns - 1.5pts, mayo - 0.5pts and an apple - 1pt = 4.5pts

Dinner - some kind of chicken curry with rice modified from WW - 5pts - a marshmallow chocolate thing - 2pts and 3 x 25ml of gin - 2.5pts = 9.5pts

Anytime - slim a soup - 1pt, rich tea - 0.5pts, misc (i picked a bit of mash potato from C's plate, which I've over counted) - 1pt plus I think I had another rich tea but can't remember so going to pt at 0.5pts - 3pts

TOTAL - 18pts/25pts

Exercise - Walked about 3 miles today in 40mins (briskly) which earned me 3 Activity Points :D I'm going to continue doing low impact exercise until I've lost a bit of weight.

I also bought the WW magazine today - reminds me that I need to buy a Points Calculator! I was going to say it would save me running up and down stairs inputting it into the esource one but actually it will do me good! Still, I could do with it for the supermarket.

Anyway, hope all you dieters are doing well, experienced and new ones!

Oh crap.

I am a bad dieter. I always knew that anyway but the last month I have done absolutely nothing to help my weight loss apart from quite a few long walks.

As a result I've pretty much put on about 5lbs over a month. Crap, basically. I feel so so low about myself, and have got really depressed; my stomach just feels huge and on Monday three people made comments about the way I look. As someone who previously had an eating disorder, it's so hard to hear. When I was tiny I said I would never get beyond a size 16 again - I'm pretty much a size 20 now. I can still fit into odd clothes from my past which has lulled me into a false sense of security - I'm not a size 16 anymore and the more I try and convince myself I am, the more I am denying to myself that I'm fat. There is no point trying to sugar coat it - I have a stupid fat percentage and I need to get it down to be healthy  - my boyfriend is totally right and I know that. He says I could do with loosing a bit of weight and again, he's right.

I cannot express how much it physically turns my stomach to look at myself in the mirror - I used to think I was fat when I was a size 6 - imagine how I feel now!

Anyway, enough of the self pity - I have till February to lose 3 or more stone - I've sort of specifically set myself a target of my boyfriend's birthday which is the 14th February. That gives me just under 6 months, with Christmas and my birthday inbetween. I just want to be slim - I want to feel better about myself and feel more attractive. Instead of people making comments about my weight, I want them to make comments about how good I look.

I've got to sort out some kind of exercise schedule as well - I'm not feeling great at the moment (tail end of a kidney/bladder infection) and my back hurts as a result so I need to take it relatively easy to start off with - ie long walks, cycling and swimming. It's not easy to go swimming all the time as a) it costs a bit and b) transport is rubbish as I don't have a car. But I know the times I can go and will aim to do them regardless. Hopefully I can get C to draw up some kind of fitness thing too - although his idea of fitness and mine are two completely different things!

Anyway, I've got to get some ideas about what to cook in the next week or so. I've not had anything to eat this morning so I'll probably come back later and update on my food intake.

Wish me luck!

Just dropping by...

To note what I had today. I've eaten 18.5pts out of 25pts so have 6.5pts left - I'll probably have a rich tea biscuit at some point (0.5pts) with a cup of tea.

Breakfast - 1 slice of bread (1pt), half a can of baked beans (2pts), spread (0.5pts) and some Summer Fruits squash (0.5pts) = 4pts (I'll probably have this again for breakfast even though I try not to eat much in the mornings, as it was very nice!)

Lunch - 2 x Quorn Sausages (2pts), tomato, cucumber and spring onion (0pts), low fat mayo (0.5pts), 80g potatoes (1pt), 200g galia melon (0.5pt) and pot of WW fromage frais (1pt) = 5pts

Dinner - packet of Walkers French Fries (1pt), 1 serving of Chicken Chasseur (2.5pts), broccoli and leeks (0pts), 200g potatoes (2pts) and WW Toffee Fudge Swirl (1.5pts) = 7pts

Other - Misc (I can't remember what this was, I think it was a tiny bit of cheese I pointed at 1pt in case), rich tea (0.5pts) and Robinsons squash and spread (1pt) = 2.5pts

TOTAL - 18.5pts/25pts

Exercise - er, there hasn't been any. Unless you count having a massive row about smoking, or lack of it. ;)
