I might be stronger then I think...
Well today we had a birthday celebration for my sister at my grandparent's house; my family believes in good food, and lots of it. Crap! I couldn't believe so early on in my diet I was already going to be tested. When they started putting the dinner out on the serving bar I first saw brisket, green beans and zucchini. Not so bad I thought, all things I can eat as long as I don't eat much of the brisket. Then as my eyes traveled further down the bar I see a huge bowl of mashed potatoes, some fresh fruit and fresh rolls. Ugh! Starches, my enemy. Next to chocolate they are easily the worst thing for me yet the yummiest :) By the end of dinner I was so proud of myself, I avoided everything I said I wasn't going to eat.
Dinner:
3 slices brisket (probably should of had 1 or 2 but hey)
Small portion of zucchini
Green beans
1 piece of watermelon
After dinner I was stuffed, we let her open her gifts and then I knew what was next....DUM DUM DUM....cake! AHHH!! They had 2 different types to chose from (God forbid they only make ONE cake)...cheesecake with strawberries or chocolate cake. I quietly sat at the table while everyone decided which they'd prefer...when they came around to me I said, "no thanks". Everyone kind of looked at me funny...grandma tried to get me to eat some strawberries, which I might of done if they werent covered in sugar. And that was it....that was the hardest part...I was able to watch everyone eat it and not even crave a piece.
So, I guess I'm stonger willed then I first thought. Maybe this will work out afterall. :)
