mindful
Just checking in and let you all know I am doing well still. I have done really well the last four days. I was able to workout all four days and have really watched my eating so that is great. I had therapy this afternoon and one of the topics was trying to live a more mindful life. I have a tendency to be anxious about the future due to my past. I spent alot of the time in the day thinking about what could or might happen as well as what I am going to eat for the next day. So I am going to try to learn some mindful skills over the next few weeks. Try to live in the moment and enjoy every second. Does anyone have any advice how to accomplish this??

you're right
It was yoga that made me so sore. It was a more intense class than I usually go to, since I'm a beginner.
Actually, a yoga class that includes breathing exercises and meditation could help you become more mindful! That's my big idea. I worry a lot about the future too--sometimes it's easy to live planning for the future (and what might go wrong) and forgetting that life is going on right now.

My problem
is that I don't worry about tomorrow, so I guess I have the opposite problem you do.
One way to stop thinking about what you're going to eat tomorrow is to plan it at the beginning of the week what you're going to have the entire week, so you take the mystery out of it from day to day.
Have a good weekend.

I have the same problem
I really get so wrapped up on what I'm going to do tomorrow and next week and next month. I was just thinking yesterday that I really miss having a job that I don't take home with me at night. I think I spent one year of my life like that. Sigh. Right now I'm always racing from one plan to the next. I really have to remind myself to slow down and just "be." Sometimes just taking a deep breath and looking around to take in the details of your surroundings can help. Think about something other than yourself. For me, the best way is just to get outside to make a break from off of life's "noise." Look at the trees, the sky. That helps "reset" my mindfulness.
Mindfulness when eating is the hardest, but most important thing. To really think about the taste of your food and to savor it can be so helpful. I think it's impossible to do that when watching TV, so I recommend not eating in the living room! Especially don't eat while driving. You won't taste a bite of it.
Let me know how it goes!
