I'm new! The reason for my weight gain.
Hi! My name is Megan and I am 27 years old. For so many years, I weighed 115 pounds. A little over a year ago, I started on birth control pills. I gained 40 pounds in less than a year due to the birth control. I even tried different kinds of BC pills. The one I am on now, I have not gained any weight from, thankfully. It has been a month and I have been only eating 1,000 calories a day and exercising on the Biggest Loser game on the Wii, for at least 1-2 hours a day. I weigh myself every week. I have not lost one pound in this whole month of January. I can't fit into hardly any of my clothes. I cant fit my engagement ring on my finger anymore, I just look horrible. My family and friends who have seen me, even laugh and say "oh my goodness, Megan. You really did get FAT!" I guess I'm going to try and eat less calories everyday. I really need to lose this weight fast. Thank you all who are reading this!! :-)

I can relate
When I was about your age, I took a birth control shot in my arm.. called Depro Prevero... I'm not sure if it's even still on the market as that's been about 14 years ago. The shot was supposed to be effective for 3 months. I took ONE shot only, and I gained a pound a DAY... 30 pounds in a MONTH!... My doctor said it could take a year for the effects of it to wear off. So that could be why you are not losing weight. Don't get discouraged though. The only thing that concerns me is that maybe you aren't getting enough calories. If your body thinks it's starving, your metobolism will slow down!!! Hang in there! ..... and welcome to EP! :)

More Calories
I completely understand the BCP weight gain :( I am sorry for what you are going through with your weight loss road block. Just don't give up! One thousand calories per day is not enough! Your body may not understand what to do without sufficient calories. Are you eating healthy or just very small amounts of bad food? Also, muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are gaining muscle and losing weight you won't see a difference on the scale. You should measure your body, too. Good luck! I am here if you need support.
