Day 94 of 132

Day 94 of 132

I only managed to respond to a few of my private messages and comments tonight, so I hope you don't mind if I reply to the rest tomorrow. My apologies, other than my quick break during my late lunch and dinner, it's been a busy day.

I'm letting so many things fall by the way side. I got a few chapters in to my new book for my '25 Things' list about a week ago and I haven't touched it since, not to mention all the e-mails and messages on here that I am late in responding to. I need to get my focus back and soon.

While we're on the topic of my '25 Things' list, I'm starting to worry about what I'm going to do for a new hair style. I've been letting my hair grow out and I'm kind of liking it because of my curls but to get something that qualifies as 'new' it can't be long hair with bangs, since that's what I just let grow out and I don't know how I feel about short(er) hair. I've had really, really, short hair before and I don't want to go back to that but for my curls to really shine, if you will, the length needs to be more than shoulder height. Plus, I don't know what would really suit my face shape. I guess this is really more of a topic that should be brought up with a picture, so others could share their opinion but alas, I don't have one that's recent, at least not yet.

Anyway, just ignore me. I suppose it's something that I am just going to have to let percilate and decide on my own. Or put forth the question of what style you think would suit me once I have a photo of my face to share.

Hope everyone had a great day and has a great weekend!

Can we say scary sense of style?

During lunch I browsing around a few clothing and shoe sites, dreaming about what kind of things I'd like to get for my new wardrobe, for my '25 Things' list.

And this outfit...

But with these shoes (in black)...

Is what appealed. Scary, no?

I have absolutely no sense of style. For the last 7 years I have bought all my clothes (minus my pants while I was in the plus size range) from Dynamite in the $5, $10, $15 and $20 sale racks. Dynamite has great clothes but sometimes I'd wonder if they were really my style or if I was just going with it because I am seriously that cheap when it comes to spending my money.

Day 93 of 132

I want to apologize to everyone who has sent a private message or left a comment asking a question over the past 2 days, I will try to get back to you tomorrow. I've just had complete tunnel vision since early Tuesday morning because of my hacked account and there were more issues that cropped up today.

Anyway, I am definitely ready for bed. I decided to give my pilates routine a whirl today to see how my body would react. Surprisingly the basic routine is now too easy, so I plan on trying the intermediate routine this weekend. But it also really tired me out having three workout routines today.

So on that note, I hope everyone had and has a great day!

Day 92 of 132

I am feeling so much better about things today. I had such a hard time getting to sleep last night because I hadn't heard back from everyone who had talked to the dill hole that hacked my account. Well, I finally heard back from them today and no one has lost any money to this unfortunate situation, thank goodness. I felt so sick to my stomach, laying in bed worry whether or not anyone had been taken for a ride. Things still aren't completely cleared up but I've got control of my account, new passwards have been applied multiple times by myself and the Facebook team. I also spent a good chunk of time changing my password on my e-mails and a few other sites that I am a member of.

Now only time will tell if I am going to encounter any more problems.

Moving on... We had meatloaf tonight. I have not had meatloaf in, I'd say, a good 7 years. I don't plan on having it again for a long time but damn was it good tonight!

Oh, before I forget. Because of the mess that happened on Tuesday, I never got around to finishing my Chalean Extreme review on the Consumer Reports forum, so I am going to try and do that on Saturday when I have more time. Of course, maybe I'll get lucky and be able to post sooner than that but at this point, I'd count on it being up Saturday.

I think that's about it for me tonight. I want to get to bed early, tomorrow is going to be a busy, busy day.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Day 91 of 132

Day 91 of 132

Man, has today been an exhausting mess. I'm still waiting to hear back from a few people concerning my hacked account but I'm most eager to hear back from Western Union. I wanted to rip my hair out trying to deal with them over the phone. The woman I was talking to, in an 11 minute conversation, just wasn't getting what I was telling her. She kept asking for a debit or credit card number so that I can get my money. Oy vey.

I managed to get the option of faxing them all of the information to try and rectify the issue, so fingers crossed that works, I just hope they get back to me quickly. I'm worried someone will have sent these asshats some money in the mean time while I'm getting the run around. Supposedly the money is to be transfered to London. United Kingdom, not Ontario Canada. Apparently I'm bi-continental now.

This just riles me up. I hate the idea of my friends being taken advantage of but I hate it even more that someone is doing it under my name! It makes me sick to my stomach.

Anyway. I have to get off of this topic. I know I'm going to have a hard enough time getting to sleep as it is because I haven't heard back from everyone who had talked to this steaming pile o' crap.

Moving on... aren't kittens, puppies and ponies just the cutest. lol! That's all I got.

Hope everyone had a great day!

My Facebook account hacked by phising scam!

I decided to check out a forum I had not been to in weeks and I saw a message title saying I was in a bind and needed help. The message went on to say that they had received a message from me through Facebook but my friend couldn't afford to help me and posted all of the western union account info she was given so all my friends on that forum could help me out if they could afford it.

I hadn't been to my Facebook account in months and know I see I'll be spending all day trying to get in contact with Facebook, the e-mail provider to the e-mail address the 'fake me' provided and also possibly the local authorities.

So take this as a warning, change your password and change it frequently! Change it to include capitals, under scores and/or numbers!

Clarification

Hi guys,

I wanted to address the comment raspberrycordial left on my post last night. We've already discussed this earlier (Hi again hun!) but I felt that maybe it would be a good idea to share my response to her on here, in case anyone out there had any of the same concerns as she did but either didn't want to comment or decided not to because it's already been said/asked.

I have to keep reminding myself that whoever reads my blog can't actively see what I'm doing, so if I leave something out, they can accidently jump to the wrong conclusion. Like with last night's post, I wasn't as clear as I should have been, I was looking at it solely from my own perspective, with all of the information in front of me. Rather than from someone else's perspective, who only gets the limited amount of information that I give them.

So, on that note, here is part of my response (copied and pasted, so I hope this doesn't come out looking funny) to her...

'I'm not obsessing over my fat layers, I am very well aware that one cannot spot reduce. At this point I am simply trying to incorporate some balance back into my routine. When I was doing Hip Hop Abs alone as a series, I was losing inches every where on my body but was not gaining any tone or definition. There were no weight workouts, except for one arm exercise which was optional with a light weight. Which was why I wanted to try Chalean Extreme, I wanted to lose the inches AND gain the muscle and muscle definition, rather than just one or the other.

Unfortunately though, since starting CE, I have lost a good deal of inches on my chest and arms but only 1 inch total for both my thighs and calves combined. This routine is definitely upper body focused and although I am very happy with the results I am attaining in my chest and arms, I now feel like my lower body is being completely ignored. I went from one spectrum of the scale, losing more lower body fat with the Hip Hop Abs, to the other side of the scale, losing upper body fat with CE.

This is why I am choosing to only incorporate Hip Hop Abs - Hips, Buns and Thighs into my current workout routine/schedule. My upper body is being taken care of with CE but unfortunately my lower body isn't and for that to happen, I need to incorporate an exercise which is focused on those areas, otherwise there is no balance.

I suppose I should have tried to be clearer about that in my post last night. Thank you for your concern though, it is very much appreciated. But there isn't any need to worry, I promise. If I was making unhealthy choices or trying to get too 'skinny', my Husband would most definitely be the first person to call me on it.'

Now, as an aside, I should clarify a little further for everyone.

I absolutely believe that both Hip Hop Abs and Chalean Extreme are fantastic series, both of which generate fantastic results but neither of them take care of every part of the body. These are both completely different exercises that target different areas/muscles in the body. Yes, they both touch on a lot of the same areas but both do lack in some places of their routines and make up for it in others, every series has its pros and cons and these two are no exception.

Concerning my body shape and how my body responds to these workouts, doing one or the other just is not enough. If I, personally, am going to reach a balanced exercise routine, where all of my muscles are being challenged, then it is in my best interest to mix and match these two series.

I am in no means saying that this is for everyone. I want to be very clear that doing Hip Hop Abs OR Chalean Extreme alone could work very well for someone else and generate the exact results they are aiming for. Unfortunately, on their own, neither series does that for me.

I hope this was clear enough. If anyone has any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask or state so by comment or private message. I promise I'll try to get back to you as quickly as I can.

Have a great day everyone!

Day 90 of 132 - Lead by example.

Day 90 of 132

Lead by example.

I have been thinking about this phrase for the past few days. How many of you out there are struggling with your own weight loss journey while you have a spouse who should be concerned about getting in better shape as well but decides they don't want to, thus making your efforts all the more difficult to accomplish?

I thought that maybe I should share my own experience on this very topic with you, perhaps as motivation for others, if there is anything you can take away from it and apply to your own situations.

When I restarted my weight loss journey on April 28th of 2008, I was very keen on wanting my Husband to join me. He would throw out the random complaint about his pot belly but refused to do any 'proper' form of exercise, stating he was the 'go outside and do something' kind of guy.

He's always been very supportive concerning my own weight loss and health concerns but just didn't want to participate or couldn't find the energy too. It wasn't until late summer of 2008 that I was finally able to convince my Husband to go to the doctor's, which he had not visited in 5 years, to get a check up on how his own health was progressing. To put it mildly, the doctor wasn't terribly impressed. He was told that he needed to become more active and that it was also likely a good idea to have a complete blood test drawn up soon to check on his vitals. Blood tests came back with unwanted results as well, he was told that if he didn't start doing something immediately, he would need to go on cholesterol medication, as he was straddling the line.

So in January he started doing Chalean Extreme with me and watching his diet, although we don't always eat the same things. At first he found it difficult to get used to the new routine, now he says he feels like it was worth it and even though he still feels like some days it's hard to exercise and eat better, he feels now like he's in better shape than he has been in a very long time. He likes the fact that now he has visible muscle definition, how much stronger he feels with more energy and endurance.

Also, he likes the fact that on days that he works out, he can eat more than he used to. Even though the food is healthier now, we still find ways to fit in some treats from time to time, as long as the net calories for the day add up right.
I can only assume that as he progresses in the Chalean Extreme Challenge, things will continue to improve.

---------------

No weigh in results this morning. The scale was completely screwy, every reading was beyond off, so I am going to weigh in tomorrow morning, crossing my fingers that it doesn't screw up again and go with that. Measurements didn't go as well as I had hoped. I am down only like 1 1/4 inches total this month. Which sucks because that was in the chest measurement. I realize that it was likely the last of my back fat finally going bye bye but everything else remained the same. I was really disappointed when I took my thigh measurements since that and my small tummy fat layer pouch are the only places I am really trying to lose from now and there was absolutely no difference.

So on that note, I have officially decided to kick it into high gear for these remaining 42 days. I will be adding Hip Hop Abs - Hips, Buns and Thighs three times a week (I could really feel what part of my muscles had not been worked in a long time during today's routine) and possibly a pilates routine to the weekend. Maybe I'll get lucky and this will kick my body into action and finally give the boot to this large remaining fat layer on my thighs that I so desperately want gone!

That's about it for tonight. Hope everyone had a great day!
