Before After

Sorry for not posting for the last 3 days. I had completely forgotten at the beginning of the week that I had a dentist and doctor appointment mid week.

First up, the dentist. I mentioned a month or two back that one of my back molars was chipped and decaying. So my dentist cleaned it out and filled it in but that was after ripping my gums and cheek apart. It's been days and my mouth still hurts a bit. He had to put a clamp or whatever on the tooth to make sure the filling wouldn't run over onto the other teeth and in doing so shifted the teeth in front and pinched, then tore the gums in the back of the decaying tooth. Afterwards when he was shaping the tooth he accidentally got my cheek with the drill and ripped it up pretty good.

Of course what set the tone for the morning was coming in on the edge of a panic attack and the assistant being rude. It just sent me into full on hyperventilation but I pulled myself together after a minute and got into the torture chair.

About an hour after 'drilling for oil' time was over, it was off to the doctor's to get the results from my blood test and discuss if I'm in good enough shape to go skydiving or not this summer. Unfortunately the blood test came back with unhappy results. My T3 and T4 levels have both gone in wildly different directions, T3 going below the normal zone and the T4 going above. Which means a dosage change. Yippee! (<-Sarcastic.) So lucky for me, that means about 6-8 weeks of feeling like crap (and possible weight gain, ugh) while my body tries to readjust and then going back in September for another blood test to check on my levels with the new dosage.

But on the plus side, the doctor said that my blood pressure has been good and my heart rhythm was good, so skydiving isn't out of the question just yet. Although he said he personally would never do it, as he doesn't even like big roller coasters. He said he's a no risk kind of guy. And that right there ladies and gentlemen is why I want to do it. A risk free life is a life unfulfilled. You never get anywhere unless you are willing to take some risks. And yes, I completely acknowledge that using skydiving as an example is pretty extreme but so is living your life and never doing anything.

Well, that's about it for me tonight. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

that's horrible

wow, way to have the crappiest stupidest dentist I've ever heard of.  that is absolutely terrible.  I feel so bad for you, I'm so sorry.

No wonder some folks hate the dentist!

I hope your dentist isn't the sky diving instructor also, becuase that could be really dangerous! LOL

I enjoyed skydiving, I did it once. I recommend taking motion sickness medecine for the plane ride up. Because there's no cabin pressure on the ride up there, since the door open so you can jump out! hehe

sky diving was super fun though, go for it. It's perfectly safe.

...of course, usually the dentist is a safe place too.

:) :(

Sorry you had such a bad experience art the dentist!!

((hugs))

On the risk front?  I totally agree with you.  I have not sky dived, but have done a bungy jump and a bungy swing.  My favourite though is white water rafting.

I hope you get to do your sky dive and your T3 and T4 start behaving!
