Day 58 of 132 - 25 Things For My 25th Year!
Day 58 of 132
Where's my birthday cake?

I noticed on the few friends lists that I am on, that I didn't have a birthday cake next to my name to show that today was my birthday. Pooh, I wanted cake, lol!
Oh well. Anyways, today didn't go the way I had hoped and again, most of my family didn't acknowledge my existance. It's nothing new, I actually stopped sending birthday and Christmas cards last year because I was tired of constantly putting myself out there and not receiving any acknowledgement in return. It saved me over $30 in card costs alone, which is a month's worth of insulin for my cat, so there's one upside from it.
This evening went alright. My Husband was tired from work and a bit of a party pooper by being grumpy and going to bed early but I can try to make up for that on the weekend when he'll be more awake and in a better mood. Not sure what we'll do but I'm sure we can come up with something fun.
So, we had East Side Mario's Bronx Burger's for dinner tonight. I've been craving them for over 2 weeks and mmm, mmm, mmm, were they good. I crave these things twice a year, since I'm not that big on the 'red' meat and they were definitely worth the wait. I ate half of it tonight and I'm saving the rest for lunch tomorrow. Trying to prolong the yumminess.
Here's some pictures of it...

There's the bacon!

Mmm, chocolate peanut butter cake!

So, how about we move on to something a little more interesting, my '25 Things For My 25th Year' list. I'm copying and pasting this from notepad, so I apologize if it comes out looking funny.
25 Things For My 25th Year
1) Go Skydiving!
2) Go shopping for a new wardrobe to more reflect the new person I've become over the past year and reward my weight loss!
3) Get a new hair style!
4) Go rock climbing!
5) Try 25 new exotic foods/meals, something out of my comfort zone that I've never considered before.
6) Take the 23andMe Genome test.
(Likely to come to $530 after conversion and taxes. Not including delivery. If delivery cost remains the same, the total should come to about $599. If I can't afford this before the deadline, then refer to #26.)
7) Learn to swim.
8) Apply for my driver's license.
(I was silly and let my permit lapse years ago, so it's time to try again.)
9) Read 25 books.
(OR read a book a month. If time doesn't permit all 25, then 1 a month must be read.)
10) Get a professional massage.
11) Do community service/volunteering, ideally 25 hours worth.
12) Donate blood.
13) Go to the Montreal Biodome with my Husband.
14) Finally sit down and have a real talk with my Father about our difficulties/issues.
15) Write a letter to my Mother to release the pain that I've carried around over the years because of our 'relationship'.
16) Go on a real date with my Husband. Get somewhat dressed up, go somewhere nice.
(Sadly, we've never done this. No real date or anything. I feel a little pathetic.)
17) Start taking the steps needed to a career as a Personal Trainer.
(As previously mentioned in post Day 20 of 132) (Courses are exspensive, so I really hope I can find a way to afford this, this year!)
18) Play the 'tourist' for a day in Montreal and go visit all of the tourist traps and see what's in/around Montreal.
19) Go through everything I own and purge myself of the things I either don't need or don't want anymore. Donate what is in good shape and could be useful to someone else.
20) Run/walk a 5k charity/whatever event.
(If I can't find an event which doesn't interfere with work or such like, then I will just do my own when I have the time to spare. Set up my own starting/finish point and have my Husband time it. I'll map out my run using mapmyrun.com)
21) Find a job, preferably in a Fitness club/gym to get my 'foot in the door' for becoming a personal trainer down the line.
22) Create and submit a design to Threadless.
(If by some lucky chance that my design ever actually won, it would pay for my cat's surgery that's been put off twice now because we can't afford it. So this one I am going to start working on right away and cross my fingers that people actually like it!)
23) Finally learn how to use my sewing machine, since I've owned it for almost 2 years now.
24) Learn how to change a tire.
25) Learn sign language.
(As a minimum, the alphabet and a few common phrases.)
26) Cook/bake an exotic meal for a special occassion for my Husband and I.
* (Only if I don't do Genome test. #6)
The plan is to complete this list before my next birthday, March 19th, 2010. I plan to chronicle everything with either photos or video (see post Day 54 of 132) and once I have completed an item, I will update the list here and share
my 'proof' with all of you.
Oh, I almost forget. I made my goal! Admittedly it was a non-official weigh in but I weighed in at 130 pounds this morning! Actually, the first reading was 129.5 pounds but I did it twice more, to make sure it was accurate and both of those readings were 130 pounds. Here's hoping come Monday I am still at 130 or less. Tonights meal, as well as having the rest of it for lunch tomorrow and the possibility of Chinese food this weekend does threaten to hold me at 130.5 pounds on Monday but either way I think I'll be happy because I still attained my original goal for today. But, I will be honest, my fingers are crossed for a read in below 130 pounds on Monday morning.
Anyway, I think that's about all for tonight. I've been looking forward to this episode of ER all week and I'd like to watch it in peace.
Hope everyone had a great day and good night!
