Soo...Where is everyone?

Hello Everyone!

Being quite frank I have to say this site isn't really doing it for me anymore :( I'm not blaming anyone whatsoever at all, as I myself have only been posting every 3 days or so. But it's really hard to get on and blog with no one out there to share with, or no new posts to see what everyone is up to. I believe it's simply falling apart. I don't know, have the ladies that have used this for over a couple years gone through periods like this? Maybe everyone is simply on trips and it's just a slow time. I'm more then willing to wait it out, but each time I stop by to see how things are going, or to find inspiration no one has posted. I suppose Ill keep waiting...

As for me things are going nicely. I'm still reading my Dukan Diet book and following it. I've lost 4.2 pounds in 4 days!!! It's really been great. Don't know if I will get caught up in the whole thing, but I have to admit changing things up for now has done wonders! I'm flying out to Arizona on Thursday to see my bestie so looking forward to that. I hope people are at least still checking in like I am and that there weightloss goals are still in their mind. We have all come sooo far, don't loose focus now !!!

Just thought I would share...Dukan Diet?

Good morning everyone!!

So for the past month my Mom has been raving about this diet she has been on. It's called the Dukan Diet. Has anyone heard about it? Well my mom is a small lady anyway. I would say never has been over 150 pounds even at her heaviest. Well she has been talking to me about this diet for the last month and to try it, but I have been very skepical about "diets" having failed so many before.

After another phone call from her, and hearing about how much weight she has lost I decided why not I'll give it go. I've been stalled for awhile now, something new wont hurt me. So I went out and bought the book a couple days ago....

I won't go into it hardcore, but this diet has 4 phases, the first (which I'm two days into) is an Attack Phase where all you eat, and I mean ALL you eat is protein. This is where I was skepical from hearing about from my mom. No carbs? I have done that before and gained a lot back when I started to eat carbs again. But it's just the first phase and to be honest after reading the book, it's one of the first diets I can see where you really can get back to your normal life and not be on a "diet" AND not gain the weight back.

BUT let me tell you....I know there is a couple of my blog friends out there where, like me, are trying to loose a little bit more here in the next couple weeks. Girls...this Attack Phase works!!! I've been on it for 2 days now and I have blasted through that plataeu like it was nothing. My mom, who is a skinny lady to begin with lost 7 pounds in 7 days during this phase. So just something to think about.

I'm a firm believer that "diets" are only temperary and that a healthy lifestyle is truely the only thing that works. And what I've talked about so far makes this diet sound like just another diet, but I'll Im saying is I'm reading the book and looking into it. Never againest trying new things, so far I'm really liking what I'm reading and just wanted to pass the info along. Anyone else dabbled around Dukan? I would love to get some feedback. Hope everyone has a healthy day!

Will Power Weekend

Good Morning Everyone!

Found out my husband has to go off on a job this weekend in the oil feild and I have nothing plannend. In a way it is nice i suppose, but no plans for me=eating out of boredum. I have no junk food in my house, but it will be a long weekend of trying to find things to do to keep me out of that kitchen. Still doing great though, still in the 150s!!

Where is everyone?? Perhaps with summer people have a lot more going on? I miss you guys, come back!

150s baby, and I'm here to stay!

Good morning everyone!

So I have hit to major little mini goals in one weekend.  The first is not so signifigant, but I'm in the 150s (finally!!!) again. Hard work and consistancy really does pay off, ha. The second is more big for me. I ran 4 miles yesterday, without stopping!!. and to be honest I think I could have done more, if it wasn't right at noon. The sun really started getting to me, but my body honestly felt great!!! I've always said that running is 90% mind. Trust me I fought my mind many times yesterday and wanted to quite so many times, but I fought through it, and when it was all said and done I have never felt so accomplished. The half marathon in October is looking like it is more and more possible at this point, we will see

I want to go again today, my plan/goal is to run this same 4 mile route throughout the week, and anything further is a bonus. I know a lot of people hate running, but when I'm into it I absolutely love it. It goes by fast, and you burn a ton of calories.

Loving the weekend..hope everyone else is too.

Aww runner's high..

Good Morning Everyone!

So I have today off and I already have taken advantage of it. I'm pround to say that I have kept my goal and am really enjoying my running lately. Woke up and went this morning and got it 3.1 miles without stopping or slowing down. Wahoo!!!! Call me cheesy but thank you Justin Beiber's "Never say Never" song for really pushing through! haha.  Each day I plan on going a little further and further and who knows where it will get me, huh? I'm still up two pounds, but I'm loving the way I am feeling. I'm also planning on going to Zumba tonight...if it's another dud workout, at least I know I already burned plenty of calories for today. Anymore will just be a bonus.  Arizona here I come!

Arizona Bootcamp

Hello everyone!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I did nothing and it was fabulous!! Overall I am proud of my weekend, I managed to get a run in each day, and am really feeling great about my running progress. I'm loving this warm/hot weather!!! My eats were not perfect. Hubby wanted to go out a couple times, and tempation got the best of me once again.

I haven't weighed in yet after the weekend, but my body feels good. It has snuck up on me of course, but I realized that I'm going to Arizona to visit my bestie for my birthday in a little less then 3 weeks!!!! Typical though, I always seem to wait until that last minute to kick my butt into gear before leaving for a get away. I could be in a lot worse shape, but I want to loose 10 pounds before this trip. It's defenitly a feat, but I feel this is the kick in the butt I need to start seeing results again. I have been stalled in these low 160s for far FAR too long! It's these little intense goals that really push me and I know I can do it

So far today....eats are perfect and I'm planning on going to both body sculpt and Spinning after work tonight. Have a healthy day!!

My Friday

Hello everyone!!

So I just finished up eating my breakfast with coffee and checking out everyone's blogs. I'm going to make today matter thats for sure. I have been slacking so hard lately! I don't know what it is, but I get in these moods where I just don't care about my consequences, and I just go for it. I've been working so hard lately and even had a great weekend last week, but yesterday and the night before that I just ate anything and everything.  I've read some great advice that many of you have blogged about, and I know it's all about moderation, and that being to strict is what triggers these binges. The thing is, when I'm on and eating great I know longer really think of it as a "diet" I've always felt this way of eating was my life now and really enjoy it. I've never really felt deprived. Maybe it's a sub concious thing?

Anyway today is a NEW healthy day. I have absoultley no plans this weekend. I will eat well, exercise, (I already plan on getting in my run this evening) and take care of myself with no temptations.

Haven't really gained more then 2 pounds, which I know is just water weight, but still have not seen a loss in about 3 or so weeks!! IT"S TIME!!!

So far so good!

Well I'm two days into my long weekend, and can report I'm doing fantastic  I peeked at the scale and was pleasently suprised at what I saw. I'm going to wait to until the weekend is over to update it however. Our big bbq is tomorrow, and I know I can do just fine!! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend as much as I am. This site has been awfully quite lately. Hope to see everyone back soon!

Weekend starts now!

Good morning everyone!

Well I'm starting my 5 day weekend today! I'm really spoiled sometimes  Today I weighed in and I'm 0.2 pounds lighter then I was before I had my little two week hiccup, which is great! It took me about a week to get back down, but the important thing is that I'm back to where I was and I turned a slump around pretty succsessfully.

I have a pretty busy weekend planned again. I'm going to go into Denver tonight and see the midnight showing of the "The Hangover II" with some friends. Then tomarrow we have some friends flying in from Laffayette, IN that we plan on hitting the town with. Saturday there is a Tri-athlon that some co workers of mine are participating in that I plan on going to watch. (Maybe it will be me, next year eh?) Then we are hitting up a brewery festival here in Fort Collins. And of course with it being Memorial Day weekend, Sunday we have a couple BBQs to stop by at.

I've worked so hard to get back down, I would absolutley HATE to throw it all away again this weekend. But I honestly feel very motivated to not let that happen this time around. I'm sick of being a "weekday" success, and then taking two steps backwards every weekend, that is not getting me anywhere! Hoping everyone has a great and healthy weekend as well! I just finished spin class this morning so I'm off to a good start

Runner's Summer

Hello Everyone.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm so busy at work this week with school being out and all the kiddos are coming to the dentist, geesh!! Defenitely looking forward to a long weekend. This weekend was nice. I got some stuff around the house done and then ended up going to see some girlfriends of mine for Saturday night. One of my best friends has lost about 20 pounds and looked incredible. I was so happy for her, and just in time for summer!!! It was a nice boost of motivation for me as well.

So I've posted on here many times that when I'm working out regularly I really do enjoy it. Well my husband I decided this weekend that we both want to start running again 5 days a week. I considar myself a seasonal runner, haha. I get REALLY into it when I'm on, but when I'm off I loose it big time. Well to say the least I'm off. I havn't ran at all for months, but I decided today is a great day to jump back in! So far it's nice out and I'm planning on hitting the pavement for a 3 mile run after work.

I know 3 miles seems like a lot for most of us on this site. But I've learned over the years that running is a mind game. Shoot big, not too big that you will end up injurning yourself, but if you just set a hard number and start to disipline your mind you can almost run any distance you choose to. Everytime that voice inside your head is telling you to stop, 9 times out of 10 is because you are bored, or just thinking you want to be done. You can always go more, you just have to get that mind game conquered. So 3 miles it is...I'm hoping this will stir up my little exercise routine and maybe I can see some budge on that scale for doing something different. Ill let you all know how it went! Have a great night everyone.
