Before After

Just popping in real quick...

I thought having access to a gym would mean dedicated exercise time but so far that hasn't happened. Hubby has been doing odd jobs at odd times and it's summer break for the kids so there is just no routine. I'm not overly concerned. I do try to go when I can and I'm hoping that come next month it'll be different. I'll be in school M,W,F and two of my 4 kids will be in school 5 days a week. I love and thrive on routine so  hopefully that will be the key.

I'm still attending WW though for a while there I was gaining. I just hadn't really been doing it. It's a struggle but I'm still fighting. As of yesterday my weigh was 274.

A new week!

Well, another weigh in came and went yesterday. This time I stayed the same! WOOT WOOT! I'm happy because in the last 7 days, I was gone out of state for 3 of them... where I ate out- but made healthier choices and worked on portion control.. but it's also THAT TIME! So I've been drinking more milk shakes because the dairy soothes my tummy (I don't like milk much, unless it's ice cream)... and chocolate. So for it not to move is a GOOD thing. This week. Next week it better move! DOWN! I don't have a billion things to do, shouldn't have any reason not to go to the gym daily... Stuff like that! Grocery shopping tomorrow so I can get good food too!

2 weeks of...

...pretty much junk fast food and no exercise, plus skipping last week's meeting resulted in an INCREASE of 4.75lbs. But that's over a 2 week period and I sucked it up, went to the meeting today, armed myself with new info (and the points calculator!) and feel ready to tackle the week ahead.

The downfall... I WILL be traveling and out of state T-Th. But I have breakfast covered. Hubby isn't a big breakfast eater and so I plan on buying some Benefit bars and/or instant oatmeal... plus a few healthy snack packages to stick in my purse to deal with hunger between meals. We'll be at an Associational Meeting for our type of churches (American Baptist) so if I at least handle breakfast well I will feel good. I've never been to this type of meeting before (always on a local or state level) and so I don't know when to expect meals or what we'll be eating or if they'll be a bunch of folks gathered around a table somewhere dining on pie and coffee at 10pm!

The one thing I've learned so far about WW is that you don't deny yourself and you don't set unrealistic expectations- such as- anytime I eat out I'll just order a salad. The little book that they give you for the first so many weeks deals with eating out, so I'm hoping I can conquer this and at least see some sort of loss next Saturday!

Been a while...

Last week sucked- next to no exercise and eating was horrible. I wasn't home most of the week, had 4 kids with me mosto f the time in areas that we weren't use to so it made entertaining hard. Didn't get home until after 9pm most nights, and we left around 7:30am most mornings- driving 45 minutes each way. So... I skipped my WW meeting to get rested up and back on track...

The weekend was bad... but........ so far so good. Monday and Tuesday I've actually kept up with my points, actually writing things down, AND I made it to the gym for 45-50 minutes each day! And we went for a family swim yesterday afternoon.

So I'm hoping when I weigh in Saturday it at least won't show a gain! And I can work on it from there...

Woohoo!

3.25 lb weight loss! All the exercise paid off!!!

Today has been the first day my eating has been so-so... but I'm not stressing. Tomorrow's a new day, new week. I'll be good to go.

Only down side.... we're SUPER busy all week and I don't know when I'll have time to exercise. But I'm going to do my best to fit some in every day! Wish me luck!

Another WW weigh-in looms before me...

Tomorrow is week 4 of WW. My 3rd "official" weigh-in (outside of the initial beginning weigh-in)... I'm excited and nervous to see what happens on the scale in the morning. Last week was off because of the holiday, lack of exercise, and TOM... but this week... *crosses fingers* should be different.

I've tried to keep within my points and think I did great about 90% of the time, but it's still hard to eat "right" AND keep my points in line and all. I'm slooooooowly getting better though.

On the other hand, I kicked some serious butt in the exercise department.

Monday: Family swim- over 1 hour of back and forth constant moving
Tuesday- Water aerobics PLUS family swim
Wednesday- 30 minute treadmill
Thursday- 30 minute treadmill PLUS water aerobic class, 20-25 minute walk with various inclines, a couple quite steep... from MIL to SILs house (1 mile- but I had two little kids with me too)
Friday (today)- 30 minute treadmill, 10 minutes (some sort of cross trainer stair climber thingy), family swim (1 hour-ish)

I definitely MOVED this week!

The gym ROCKS!

Ok, so this isn't a fancy gym, just about 4-6 treadmills, 2 bike things, a couple of weights (plus free weights and half a ball, etc...) and 2-4 stair climbers. But still. With the pool and the walking track you can't beat the $30 a month membership! lol

I took the water aerobic class yesterday and loved it! I was definitely the youngest one there, but oh well. I was doing what I liked. I hope to go in the morning too. It was interesting, they used the styrofoam free weights, the noodles, walking, jogging, sprinting... It was nice. Today I used the treadmil and did 30 minutes. I was going to work out more but the piece I wanted wasn't working and I didn't have a lot of extra time left. So I definitely think the gym will be a great benefit!!!

Yesterday the ladies of my church went out to eat at Cracker Barrell. I did okay. I ordered the chef salad which has more points than I'd have liked- but with all my water exercise PLUS free pool time with the family I had enough points that I didn't blow it. I did it with the ff dressing and diet coke. I did eat two biscuits but no butter. I think I'm starting ot figure this out. It's definitely nice being able to just go with the flow and not feel like I've blown anything!

Joined the gym!!!

WOOHOO! We did it today! They have a pool, child care during certain hours, and some regular gym stuff. The child care won't be used often because at $2 per hour per kid it can be expensive if you times it by four... but it's still nice to know. The whole family went to the pool today and played for 1 hour. I basically walked or swam the entire time, up and down, with the different kiddos. Got a good workout in I'm sure. And had FUN doing it!

Tomorrow I'm branching out and trying water aerobics... I'm nervous though! LOL

And I've done great with my points today too!

Week 3 on WW

So I only lost 1 pound this week. Not great but I'll take it. It's better than a gain ANY day! I've had a lot to compete with- no exercise, holiday, and TOM! Grrrrr! So yeah, I'll take it. Tomorrow's a brand new day and the start of a new week. Don't know yet about joining the gym, but I'm pushing for it!!! And I'm trying to plan my week out as far as food goes. Don't really have time for a longer update, but I'm going to go try to catch up for a few minutes before dinner!

Not so good...

Today is a not so good day... I'm starting to get at "that time" of the month so my eating desires and strengths are totally out of whack. I just sent hubby out for a fast food dinner that is NOT point friendly, but I sat down, figured out the points and deducted as needed from my extra points. I'm not anticipating a loss this week, simply due to it being the wrong time! But maybe I'm wrong! We went for a short walk as a family this evening which was super nice!

School gets out Wednesday and then we can go for more walks together and not have to worry about being to bed at an early hour. Plus I *think* Monday we're joining the gym!
