Lost 2.2lbs in 2 days!

Yup!  That's right!    I may be overreacting about this, but I am really stoked!!  I jumped on the scale at the gym on Monday afternoon and it said 64kgs (140.8lbs).  Then this afternoon (Wednesday), I checked my weight on the same scales and it said 63kgs (138.6lbs)!!  My heart skipped a little from excitement. 

This is seriously a great motivator.  I'm super keen on keeping this up! 

I haven't skipped a meal the past 2 days.  I woke up early each day to eat breakfast.  I made sure I ate all 3 proper meals!  Previously, I have tried to skip breakfast, but it REALLY DOESN'T help with weight-loss! Coz I usually end up getting hungry by afternoon, and snack excessively on things like museli & yoghurt, water crackers and too much almonds or peanuts!

Personal-experience-tip-#1:  Don't skip meals.  Eat slowly and enjoy each mouthful.

I also tried to make better choices in what I consumed.  Today, for example, my best friend Hema called me to go to a cafe this afternoon.  It is incredibily hot here in New Zealand, so we wanted cold drinks.  She ordered an iced chocolate while I got an iced lemon tea (50 calories!).  When our orders arrived, my tea looked so refreshing.  Her iced choc looked yummy, but I didn't crave it coz all I saw was too much marshmellows, cream & choc sauce on top, and she said the drink tasted very chocolatey.  I don't think she would worry about the calorie/fat content of it though, coz shes already VERY slim.  I bet shes about 110lbs.

For exercise the past 2 days, each day I did Pilates for Abs(10 mins) in the morning, went to the gym in the afternoon to do cardio & weights for 40 - 60 mins, then at night time before bed, I did push-ups, crunches, lunges, criss-cross, bicep & tricep dumbbell lifts, and whatever else I could think of.  I do about 2 - 3 sets of each exercise, and my older skinny brother, George, does it with me to motivate each other, usually in front the TV.   Its funny how my ab muscles are stronger than George's.  He has a lean body, and pretty strong arms, but he whined like a little girl about how much the criss-cross hurt him, 3 repetitions into the exercise!! hehehe  If I lose my unwanted fat, I ?could possibly? have more toned-looking abs than him!  Note-to-self:  Gotta do more intense cardio to burn off that fat!!!  I wanna see the results of my abdominal exercises!!!!

I think the top contributor to this weight loss in 2 days was my high intensity interval training on the treadmill using Cardio Coach.  It was truly a workout.  It was hard but totally worth it.  I sweated like a pig, and I was left breathless after each high intensity challenge. 

So basically, it all came down to staying on track and not giving in to temptations .  I haven't felt guilty about anything the past few days.  I'm really trying my hardest to keep my mind pointed in the right direction and achieve my goal. I want my weight tracker at the bottom of my blog to say "Congratulations! Goal Achieved!". 

That's all for now.  Tomorrow, I will be playing tennis for an hour or so with my friend Lily coz I'm not going to be in the city for the gym, plus I have work to go to in the afternoon.

Hopefully I'll blog again soon, if I don't, that's probably because I have to study for my summer school exam on Wednesday next week.

Congrats! You are not overreacting at all! I lost 2lbs too and I couldn't be happier! It's the little achievements that keep us going! It's an amazing feeling. And good job on not skipping meals, I did that too a few years ago and it backfired. I think I actually slowed my metabolism down because of it. You are doing awesome!!!
