Salmon isn't so bad

Sandy and I went walking right after work--haven't checked mapmyrun.com to see exacting how far we went. It was beautiful and warm when we started out; however, it got chilly as the sun set. I'm thinking that I may have a bit of a wind burn on my face.

Today was a crazy day b/c I chose to take care of some business at lunch rather than eat. I ended up being a half an hour late getting back to the ofc so I didn't wanna stop for a salad. Instead I scavenged....

Breakfast: Kashi GLC dry

Lunch: 2 bags of cheddar bugles from machine then I found carrot chips & Swiss cheese I had in the frig from earlier this week

Dinner: a can of salmon w/ real mayo.

When I was a kid my mom bought salmon in a can once. It totally grossed me out b/c it had the vertebrae in the can w/ it. It so totally grossed me out that I haven't eaten it for life. That even stopped me from eating fresh salmon steak. It has always looked very appetizing but I just couldn't bring myself to eat it--I know it was totally mental thing.

My favorite market had these cans on sale recently. The label claimed that they were boneless. Since I have been criticizing Sandy so badly about not being willing to try any new foods (she eats zero veggies, except corn & potatoes) I thought I better practice what I preach.

No bones about it! I loved it. A whole new world has opened up to me. My next "new food" that I am going to try is California Rolls (sushi). Stardust assures me that it isn't as icky b/c it doesn't have the dark, seaweed, fishy tasting wrap stuff around it.

Every year I try cantaloupe and every year I hate it. I don't understand it b/c it looks so good and smells so good.

I challenge everyone to try a new food this week and report back.

Onward & downward, filled w/ salmon!

Guess What?

Mark this day on your calendars girlz! I got up at 3:45 a.m. and got to the gym by 4:50 a.m. Woohoo!

It was pretty slow going. Started out on the elliptical but I only made it 5 minutes--oh well, count it as a warm up. Moved on to the re-bike. Talk about a sweating mess. Just as I was about ready to stop, "hello, Mr Fireman, love your heighth, you have a liitle bit too much hair, but dang those calves and shoulders make up for it!" Of course he climbed on the treadmill in front of my bike. Have I mentioned how much I love sexy calves?

Made it a little over 5 mi in 30 min on re-bike. Moved onto a couple of leg weight machines that I wasn't able to snag last night.

Normally I eat breakfast at work about 9:45 a.m. but today I was able to grab a nice breakfast. When I got home from gym I had a small bowl of Kashi GLC w/ a small banana & 2 percent milk.

BTW, new hair looked really crappy yesterday. Somehow she made my hair flattish (w/o using flat iron). Unfortunately I did not achieve it. Then I ran out of time. Had to resort to a good old headband! Don't tell my dad--he hates when I wear hairbands. He says it is a lazy excuse for not doing your hair.....so what's your point pop?

Spring is here, I think

Right outside our backdoor a bird has built a nest on top of the lantern sconce. I still haven't gotten used to it yet. Everytime I whip the door open it scares the bird and it flies away frantically. Eventually we will get used to each other and neither of us will jump in total surprise.

Saturday would have been the perfect day to do our 12 mile walk. Unfortunately, Sandy was busy doing family stuff and had to pass. I was under the impression that we would be hitting the road Sunday.  Saturday was spent enjoying the sun and high temps. Lo and behold it poured rain all day Sunday. Also, I had a gnawing headache. So you guessed it--3 days in a row w/o workout.

Tonight I made a B-line for the gym as soon as I got off work. There were treacherous storms moving into the area so I didn't wanna take a chance in missing out on another workout. Had a personal best on elliptical. I did the first mile in 11:33--omg, Lindy, how in the world can you keep that pace or better for miles on end?

B: 2 slices swiss cheese w/ deli buffalo chicken

L: carrot chips w/ ranch dressing and pineapple

D: eggsalad on 2 sl whole grain bread and two breakfast sausage links

Up until about 2:00p.m. this afternoon I was totally lethargic. I got plenty of rest yesterday and last night. The feeling reminded me of when I used to get mono (before I had my tonsils out).

New Hair

I love this new gal I have found. All I have to do is describe a few must haves in the style and she manages to create a beautiful, flattering hair do. As if this is wonderful enough, she only charges $10. Tonight I have to get some hair color in place--eek! I have lotsa gray showing.

The weather was absolutely heavenly today. Really got me in the mood for spring cleaning.

Spent the rest of the afternoon outside, in short sleeves, reading a funny book S gave me, and soaking up lotsa sun.

Tonight we have movies to watch: The Hitman, August Rain, and the Tin Man.

Breakfast: Kashi GLC w/ banana & milk

Lunch: Blazing Buffalo deli chicken, swiss cheese, & mayo on whole grain

Snack: Pistachios  and a banana

Dinner: A couple of breakfast sausages w/ a fresh veggie medley

What a freakishly long day

My evening was spent chaperoning a 16th birthday party for Nate's best friend. Some of you may remember the little girl who he escorted to the Homecoming game last year--it was her birthday party.

It was held in a local community center w/ at least a hundred of her closest friends.

Basically I did not stop until after midnight. Being the lame-o that I am I did not get to the gym like I wanted to this morning. S and I chatted last night until very late. Apparently the wedding is actually being held. He is hoping to sneak away to the bar to catch as much of the games as possible.

It is really odd not being able to hang out with him this weekend. He has definitely been a breath of fresh air around here.

Breakfast: carrot chips & hummus

Lunch: Subway 6 inch sub w/ baked Lays & humongous iced tea

Dinner: some nachos & cheese at party

Late eats: carrot chips & cheese spread and pistachios

Better scoot. I have an appt at 9:00a.m. for a haircut. Woohoo! I am overdue for cut & color. It is probably just as well that S isn't going to see me like this.

Onw......snore.......

Blah Day

The weather here sucks! It has been cold, gray, & misty all day. People in the ofc are getting sick--headaches, sore throats, & noses that run w/o stop. Ugh!

Hopefully I can steer clear of this illness. Most are having shortness of breath with it. I don't want anything sidelining me, for even a week, this close to the race.

Did all my regular weight circuits this evening w/ a mile on elliptical. I really should stay on the elliptical longer; however, I am absolutely exhausted when I get done w/ weights. Tomorrow is definitely going to have to be a long cardio session. In fact, I will definitely have to hit it in the a.m. b/c I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow after work.

Breakfast: Kashi crunch dry

Lunch: pc of quiche w/ side salad

Pre-workout: 1 sl whole grain bread w/ pb

Dinner: McD's cheeseburger w/ bottled water

Better run! Tomorrow is jean day and I need to do a load in the wash. Plus S just called--he's trying to tell me he has a wedding to go to this weekend. Yeah right, If I am not mistaken there are 16 bball games on CBS this weekend! Like I believe any red blooded American male is going to pass up the NCAA for a wedding of all things! LOL

Rest Day

Tonight after work Sandy and I went to the visitation of a dear friend's mother. It was so sad. She had a bad relapse with cancer. It all happened so quickly. My poor friend, she is so devestated.

While in the line at the funeral home I ran into an older lady that works out at my gym in the mornings. I told her it has been my intention to come see her every morning--but I am too lazy. Now that I have seen her and we chatted a little I am definitely going to make a very strong attempt. I would be nice to get caught up w/ her and her daughter.

The dress clothes that I wore were much bigger on me than I anticipated. They were purchased in size 22/24. Hopefully I will be able to get into a 16 by May!

I have this particular outfit in mind for the evening out after the race. I so hope I can get it in that size. I haven't actually found what I have pictured in my head but if I do I will post it.

Breakfast: 2 sl whole grain bread w/ pb

Lunch: McD filet o fish w/ side salad and apple slices (NO caramel dip)

Dinner: yet to be determined--it is so late I don't really wanna eat but I can't go to bed w/ a rumblie stomach.

Double-down day

Knowing that we would need to watch stinker butt nephew this evening I headed to the gym right after work. Got in all my weights, reps of 15X3, and a mile on elliptical.

By the time I left work tonight I knew I would be beating that sh*t out of the elliptical machine. The frustrations from the new system at work required some venting!

As soon as I walked into my bro & sil house I headed straight for my favorite scale. After a full day and two workouts I have managed to be down another 2.5 lbs. Hopefully that will continue to my WI day.

Breakfast: banana w/ pb & granola bits

Lunch: WW angel hair pasta w/ steamer bag of sugar snap peas

Dinner: pb sandwich--the cupboards are bare here! I may have a banana in a little bit.

I made a pbj sandwich for stinker butt--you would not even believe the temptation I faced! Trying not to lick the jelly off the knife when I was done making his sandwich. You would have thought it was a 5 star dessert!LOL Fortunately I resisted!

A Breath of Fresh Air

My entire body feels like it hase received a breath of fresh air. My original intention was to go to gym, then I decided to  bust out the new BL Cardio Max--only spent about 10 min w/ Bob & friends. My wooden floors were creaking so much I was afraid it would wake up Nate. (Mind you it was 5:00a.m.)

Our cable has all these Free on Demand stations--I decided to look for a pilates workouts. I found the perfect one! It was 20 min long. It felt so good. Every inch of my body feels like it is receiving oxygen.

Downside to morning workout at home: the varmants were mauling me while I was trying to move around. My 100 lb Lab wanted to sit as close to me as possilbe. When I would scoot him away he would creep back, slyly, and do a "drive by" lick.

My cat took every opportunity to rub her face and body on every extended body part--fingers, toes, feet, knees. When I was laying on my back, with arms extended to sides, she would try to curl up in my armpit and get comfortable!

I don't really feel like I burned any calories; however, I do feel so refreshed.

Busy, Busy

Work has been so stressful--last week we implemented a new computer system at work. All of my regular job responsibilities have fallen to the wayside. As if I wasn't feeling behind before! Today I started taking shorter lunches and staying after work.

Today I have kept a pretty positive attitude--I can only do what they ask me to do for that day.  No sense in stressing over the regular stuff. Of course, I can say that today. Remind me of that next week when I am sitting in a corner, sobbing, sucking my thumb, and rocking back and forth!LOL

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs

Lunch: steamer, freezer corn, 1 hard boiled egg, carrot chips w/ hummus

Snack: 1 serving of baked Gold Fish & 1/2 a diet DrPepper

Dinner: 1 C spag w/ meat sauce 2pcs whole grain bread w/ ICBINB lite

Had an appt right after work. Once I was done I hit the elliptical at the gym. I managed to stay on for a half an hour. The only machine that was available was the one that the psycho dude was abusing a month ago--I seriously think the machine is out of whack now. It doesn't seem to run as smooth.

Gotta check-in w/ all you girlies!
