Before After

Has it been 5 days since my last post?

Wow! What is wrong with me?

Welp, Saturday I fell of the sugar wagon in a big way. I caved into some super sinful foods. I am not going to describe them b/c I wouldn't take anyone else down with me.

Sunday was my lazy day as usual. I layed around in my flannel comforter all day trying to figure out why I was still freezing my @$$ off. Finally, I remembered that I had turned the heat off last time the weather was really warm, to open windows, and never turned it back on. My freaking house was 58 degrees!

TOM hit this a.m.--surely this has got to be the reason I have been a ravenous sweet eater all day Saturday.

Also, I only worked out 2-3 days this past week so I attribute my lethargy to that too. I haven't had the body chemicals in check.

Tonight I went to the gym. The first time in over a week. It was so nice to push my muscles--even tho I was cursing the freaking tricep presses.

Breakfast: South Beach pb protein bar

Lunch: 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/ steamer veggies (carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, & gr beans)

Pre-workout: choco chip & pb Clif bar

Dinner: teriyaki shrimp w/ steamer gr beans & corn

Gotta get caught up on ya'll. I have been so worried that Travel Girl's flight was cancelled.

Onward & downward!

Almost forgot!

When Sandy and I were done walking tonight she invited me in. Her mom had left a whole bunch of clothes for me--she was getting ready to send them to a consignment shop but let me choose what I wanted first. I'm not proud, I LOVE hand me downs.

When I saw that the entire stack of clothes was size 16 I got a little deflated. I love the fact that she thought I could possibly fit into them. There were two beautiful coats--one was a classy overcoat and the other a suede, lamb skin coat. They were so gorgeous I was bummed b/c the # seemed so small.

Sandy finally said, "Just try them on!" The trench coat fit! It may be a little too form fitting but I could close it and it could be buttoned as long as I was standing up. The suede, lamb skin coat was a little snug in the shoulders but it shouldn't be much more before it can fit! Yay!

I desparately needed new coats this year. Unfortunately I am so picky & cheap I just couldn't find any. Looks like there was a reason that I never found the right one!

Please forgive my gloating if I went overboard! I so dang excited!

33 lbs down!

I was soooo shocked when I jumped on the scale today at work. I was feeling thinnish but I had no idea.

Right now I am only 6 lbs higher than my lowest point last year. Plus, I am actually down 11 lbs from last year's Mini.

Meeting my 50 lb weight loss goal by May 3rd seems pretty ambitious; however, I would love to have a 40-45 lb weight loss by then but we'll see.

Been walking downtown at lunch time. Actually,  walked up to the top of parking garage (about 6-7 flights of stairs) then walked down again. Unfortunately, I didn't have my inhaler so it was a little ugly. Gonna try again tomorrow w/ inhaler.

Breakfast: 1/2 high protein bar

Lunch: slice of tomato/bacon quiche w/ spinach side salad

Snack: other half of protein bar

Dinner: too late to eat by the time I got home from walking

Onward & downward!

Sorry to leave you hanging...

Sandy just came over to show me her new bicycle. She Got a really cool bike that looks like a cross between the bike that the witch rode in The Wizard of Oz and a mountain bike. It has a really big butt seat. Finally, the industry has caught up to my needs. I am sure that she paid a pretty penny for it so it will just have to sit on my wish list for awhile.

I never get visitors until I am braless in a crummy, hair dyed tshirt! Sandy brought her husband along. Nate is yelling, "mom, why are you walking away from the door instead of answering it!" Kids can be a real pain in the @$$ sometimes.

Biggest Loser is getting ready to come on. I'm thinking I might even paint my toe nails. Why not do all the girlie things tonight!

Breakfast: 4 smoky links

Lunch: other half of head of broccoli, raw, I forgot to take another steamer bag to work w/ green grapes.

Snack: Kashi GLC dry

Dinner: 1 C Zatarans rice w/ a little sausage & egg mixed in w/ two pcs of bread and ICBINB

Drankd quite a bit again today. Hopefully the smoky links and griller won't cause me to retain too much. Guess I better get drinking again. Man, I hate having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

BL is on! Onward & downward!

Priorities

As ya'll know I got my hair cut about a week ago. I loved it initially but I can't seem to make it do what she did. You would think that I would spend more time doing my hair to try and make it right. Nah, I have caved into defeat and totally had crappy hair for a week.

About the only time I can make it half way cutish is to put my my bangs to the side with a little clip thing. However, when I do that 50 percent of my hair is mostly white! Blame it on the genes.

Today I had had enough. I was so tired of feeling so down on myself--I know it shouldn't matter, but when my hair looks icky, I feel icky. What I am getting at is that I skipped trip to gym tonight. As soon as I walked through the door I went straight for the Feria color box. It was a different flavor than usual so I am excited to see how it turns out.

Be right back!

It was fun while it lasted

My morning weathercaster is breaking the news to me--we are in for thunderstorms until Sunday! Aack! This will definitely force me back into the gym.

Yesterday was another rest day. It was a late night getting home so I just took my time and read the Sunday paper (as I forgot to on Sunday). My hamstrings were very sore all day. I don't know if it was from the walk on Saturday or the yard work Sunday. I'm thinking a combination of both. Sunday I did a lot of squatting when trying to trim the bushes.

Yesterday eats:

Breakfast: deli ham w/ low-fat cream cheese

Lunch: 1/2 stock of broccoli in steamer bag & orange

Snack: (my tummy was grumbling still) 2 bags of cheddar Bugles.

Dinner: scrambled eggs w/ one cheddar griller

Snack: 1 sl whole grain tsp mayo and one cheee slice

Definitely drank much more today.

You all are doing so great! Yay us!

Cravings

This has been a glorious weekend--why must it end so soon? Today we spent the afternoon trying to clear overgrown brush from our property. This time around I was sure to put sunscreen on w/ a tshirt to cover up all previously burned areas.

Since I woke up late I skipped breakfast. Bad move! Once we were done w/ the yard work I was famished w/ a headache setting in. Once Nate & I got cleaned up we ran to my favorite market for some stuff off the hot bar. As a "fun" thing we decided to go eat our lunch in the park. It was so refreshing.

One of my favorite summer time treats is to go to DQ for a small blizzard. That is all I have thought about all weekend! Dang, I haven't really had any sweet cravings until this weekend. I nver thought sunshine & warn temps would be a trigger for sweets!

Breakfast: nada

Lunch: 1/2 c Italian beef (no bread) & 1 C of bowtie pasta salad

Dinner: An entire pkg of imitation crab

Snack: green, seedless grapes

Onward & downward!

Owweeee

What was I thinking? Obviously, I wasn't thinking. I burned myself to a crisp today.I wore a tank top and sports bra--I am red as a lobster where all the straps were, my shoulders, arms, & especially my face.

Tonight I slept for a little while but now I have a horrible sunburn headache.

On a good note: when I went to take Nate for dinner I needed a hoodie b/c I was having a bit of chills. Unfortunately, I could not find my jacket. Instead I grabbed one out of Nate's closet. It is a men's extra large and it was not remotely tight. I was able to zip up the front w/ plenty of room to spare. I told him I may keep it but I may look a little goofy in it. It is one of those skater hoodies w/ a huge Fox head on the front of it.

Nite Nite all!

It's raining men, steaks, & manure

What a fabulous day to get out for a long walk. It is sunshiny and in the mid sixties. The slight breeze brought all kind of aromas my way.

Walking thru the park I got quite a few whiffs of some pretty scrumptious colognes. All the guys driving by w/ their windows down, mmmmm. As I got into more residential areas it was either steaks grilling or fresh manure laden mulch--everyone was out in their yards.

I spent over an hour and a half trying to come up w/ a route on mapmyrun.com that would take me 12 miles. I had to plan it around potty breaks so I didn't want to get too rural. Finally I just got up and went instead of wasting anymore of the day.

Unfortunately my calculations in my head fell short. I just put the route into the mapmyrun search and it came back as only 7.54! I left at 12:27 pm and returned home at 3:10 pm. As soon as my son met me at the door and told me what time it was I knew that I had blown it.

My right foot was really giving me fits. My second toe in particular was rubbing really bad. Didn't think to put bodyglide on ahead of time.

I took a little Nike shoe back pack filled w/ 2 bottles of h2o, my wallet, and sport beans. I didn't drink enough h2o for fear of not being near a restroom. There were plenty of times that I would have liked to jog but the back pack of h2o bottles cracking on my back discouraged that from happening often.

When I got home there was a prize for me in the mailbox. My mom made me the most gorgeous sterling silver bracelet w/ peridot gem stones. The note said, "You are doing a great job! We love you!"--how awesome was the timing!

Onward & downward!

And on the fifth day she rested

When I left work this evening it was my intention to make it to the gym this evening. Once I ran errands to the bank & market I was pooped. It didn't take much to talk myself out of going.

Tomorrow I am due for a 12 mile walk so I decided my muscles need to rest. Tonight I was due to do 45 minutes of elliptical--I'm lame. Now that I explain it to you all it seems like a lousy excuse.

My weigh in was a little discouraging. However, it isn't significant. Honestly I don't think I am drinking enough water (even tho I have increased this week) and eating enough fresh veggies. Beware, TMI coming--I have not been eliminating waste as I should. Two days this week I have had deep fried, battered fish. Actually I think I have had fish everyday this week. Imitation crab, salmon, cod fish filet, beer battered cod cubes, & crab cake. Dang! Need I say more! No wonder I am stunted right now!

Breakfast: banana w/ pb & Kashi GLC dry

Lunch: mushroom & spinach quiche slice w/ side salad

Dinner: beer battered cod fish cubes & baked beans

Snack later: pork rinds w/ onion dip

I have eaten at least 3 large bananas this week too. Maybe too much natural sugars.

Last night I bought Nate some powdered donuts for breakfast, hot pockets for lunch, and then a box of frozen, soft pretzels. Mind you he had leftover Manwich & baked beans from last night. Tonight when I got home the box of 6 large pretzels was empty, hot pockets were eaten as an appetizer while waiting for sloppy joes to warm up in microwave. WTH!

Hey! Has anyone heard of Zumba or attended a class yet? I just put my  name on a list at our local community center--I am so excited! I have never actually seen it yet. What I have found on the internet appears to be a Latin hip hop, break dancing style workout. A friend's sister attends a class at another location--she is dripping wet when she leaves. It is supposed to be a head to toe workout. I am going to try to look it up on youtube.

Onward & Downward tomorrow in 62 degrees of sunshine!
