Before After

How I have missed thee, let me count the lbs....

NOT!

I just can't bring myself to climb on the scales.

Sorry it had been so long. Nate had a little problem w/ the understanding of having a telephone as a privelege--after a long summer of normally respectable kids calling at all hours of the day and night I had the damn thing shut off! Unfortunately, that took the internet along w/ it.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't need a phone at all! I talk on mine at work all day long. The last thing I wanna do when I get home is be on the phone.

Tonight I had a better, cheaper service hooked up through the local cable company. Finally I can check on my blog girlies again! My friends at work teased me that I would probably call in to work tomorrow as I would be up blogging all night.

Nate seems to have a better understanding of what a privelege is--if there is any question in his mind there is no doubt now as to whether I would actually shut it off or not.

I've missed you all. Can't to wait to hear about all of your progress.

Where did daylight savings time go?

It wasn't that long ago that I was going to bed in broad daylight at 10:30 at night. As soon as Big Brother was over tonight I decided to go for a stroll. I took off on my regular route; however, I was losing daylight fast. I didn't go nearly as far as I could have--I not like to be out after dark by myself.

Originally I had hoped that Nate might wanna go with me but he appeared to be asleep--yeah, I'm guessing the big fake out. When I got home he was wide awake taling to his girlfriend on the phone. Sucks to not be the number one gal in his life anymore!

I thought I hit it really hard but my time wasn't so hot. What can I expect though? It's not like I have been training for a marathon or anything. I did come home drenched in sweat and I did manage to jog through about 10-12 intersections. Feeling really good--I will definitely count it as a success! Doing right won out over my counter productive mind.

Lindy we are going to have to start tag teaming Andrea about the Mini! She is contemplating it. She wants to do the Pig too, in the same weekend! She is TENACIOUS!

EPeeps Rock!

I neglected to mention...

Not only was I fully clothed on the giant green dr scale, it is TOM! Ugh!

Drum roll please.....da-da-dahhhh....I made it to Zumba tonight! Yippee! The Community ctr is just across the street from my ofc. The last ten minutes at the ofc I kept trying to talk myself out of it. There was no real valid reason other than pure laziness. Fortunately I just did it!

Tonight was a little slow b/c we kept having techinical difficulties w/ the music. The crowd was at full capacity! WTH! Turns out that one of the local tv stations did a piece on it last Wednesday. That was one of the classes I missed b/c I had a hair appt. Thank God! I would have been moritified.

This Friday Zumba goes to 4 days a week! Woohoo!

Yoohoo....anyone home?

Can you hardly believe it? I am finalllly posting.

Definitely have to get butt in gear! I had a dr's appt today--you might notice the slight weight gain. Historically my dr's scale weighs about 6 lbs too heavy. I went ahead and registered it b/c I have more than deserved it (that was fully clothed too!) If I took the 6lbs off I would actually be down 3lbs from my last weigh in.

My blood pressure was horrible! 150/90! Yikes! Mind you that was taken immediately after dismounting the giant green scale!  Work has been much less stressful but I have not been working out that much--I missed Zumba all of last week. He mentioned controlling it with meds but I refuse to do that when it is w/in my own power to do it.

Tomorrow is definitely back to Zumba. In fact, I think I may have talked my dr into trying it out. He said that if we are burning 600 cal an hr that is the equivalent of 5 miles--Lord knows I would rather spend and hour doing that instead of 2 hrs.

Does anyone watch So You Think You Can Dance? I was so bummed to see Will go last week--I was really hoping for more pairings of him w/ Katie!

If you all don't hear from me consistently in the next week or so you have the permission to e-kick my ass!

Tatumsmom you just made my day

Last night, or should I say the wee hours of morn, is when I finally got settled down enough to sleep. All the excitement of a new living room redo kept me buzzing. This morning I was up at the crack of dawn to go get brilliant white ceiling paint. I have been going non-stop until just now.

The room is painted but it will need a second coat. The weather was gorgeous all morning. The sofa got a really nice airing out. Suddenly the popcorn storms are starting to move in. Nate and I made a mad dash to get the sofa back in the house--after rearranging the refrig, the loveseat, the storage chest, and three huge containers full of next weeks yard sale stuff.

We wrestled that effing thing! Mama was not saying nice words in front of the boy. It didn't help that he was laughing at me--he is just like I was to my mom when she used to freak out w/ frustration when I was growing up.

I was about 10 seconds away from hauling it out into the yard to torch it! Fortunately Nate was able to handle--had I been left to do it myself the effing thing wouldn't have arms or legs left to it!LOL

Back to my title, Angela says that painting burns a huge amount of calories. So I can stop beating myself up that I didn't make it to Zumba today.

Thanks for allowing me to rant! Your the best!

Woohoo, LIndy is Indy Mini 2009 bound

How exciting! Lindy aka Bkay has signed up for the Indy Mini--Lindy I promise NO hills like the Pig.

My eating is still atrocious but I am getting lots of moving in.

My big chore for this weekend is to paint my living room. So far I have the first coat on the ceiling and "Baby Tooth White" is not nearly as white as I hoped, it actually has a grey tint to it. Will have to go buy a gallon of ceiling white tomorrow.

Nate and I had to move my sofa outside on the front porch--nothing screams white trash like having your sofa on your porch. Fortunate for my neighbors we did it under the cover of darkness. Now that I have the room all rearranged w/ everything out in the middle, including the old regrigerator that is awaiting pick up from a thrift store, there is no room to bring it back in.

I have decided to leave it out overnight. It could probably use a good airing out. Once I got done w/ the first coat on the ceiling my 100# lab, CAsey, and I went out for a lounge on the sofa. It was comfy. We watched the neighborhood wind down as if it was a huge television screen.

The gym is starting up its Biggest Loser challenge in Sept. I am thinking of participating. My trainer's team won the last one. She is going to Cincinatti at the end of the month to become certified as a Zumba instructor. I am so excited.

Ideally the gym would offer Zumba on my off nights from the community center that way I could Zumba 6-7 days a week. Actually the community ctr is extending from 3 days to 4 days a week effective Aug 1st.

Hopefully I will get this painting job knocked out tomorrow so I can spend Sunday getting caught up on you girlz! Miss Yas!

Soft and spreading

My girlz! how I have missed you.

My summer has been spent outside mostly in the company of a good book. Yep, I am still waiting on my shot at the new Janet Evanovich book from the library. Last week I was #30 on the hold list.

I have been indulging entirely too much. Fortunately I have not gained more than 10 lbs--going from the intense Mini workouts to Zumba 3X a week has caused me to soften up. I definitely have not kept up on my weight machine workouts.

It is time to kick it up a notch but I am still searching what will help me to do that.

Sweets are still a huge obstacle. I can manage to go a day w/o sugar. But on the 2nd day when I start feeling better, less lethargic, I somehow trick myself into thinking that a pkg of pop tarts from the machine at work would not be a bad thing. Yeah, whatever!

You guys are doing so great! Andrea, I can't believe that you have done a 1/2 marathon already! How awesome is that!

The last couple of weeks I have been working on myself from the inside. Life is getting better and work is much less stressful. As the stress falls away I feel more inclined to do what I know to be the right thing.

Love Yas!

A Favor to Ask

A local radio station is hosting an American Idol contest. Nate's best friend, Darielle Jordan (the little girl he escorted to homecoming last year), has been picked as one of the 35 contestants.

If you would be so kind as to go to thislink and vote for her. Be sure to put Darielle Jordan #1051 in the subject line. I don't know if there is a limit but whatever you can do would be much appreciated.

She is very talented. She actually won a similar contest last year. She got so excited that she jumped up in the air and flipped her dress over her head. It was so darn cute! She forgot he had a dress on.

Thanks EPeeps! Her mom, my trainer, was really excited when I mentioned sharing it with you guys!

Still aground, have not floated away

Our little town is seeing disasters of biblical proportions. We have gone from earthquakes, straight line winds (aka, almost tornado), to flooding.

There are literally areas around town where people were stuck in the rooves of their houses. Ironically, this was in an area of very, very wealthy houses (not quite mansions). When you roll in the 'hood' like I do you don't have to use a canoe to get out. Just kidding! I don't really live in the hood--just not as far away from it as the ritzy, flooded part of town.

Amazingly there are no real bodies of water near them. We did receive about 9 inches of rain w/in a day and a half. Also ironic, the town's engineer just issued new flood maps last week. The areas that were not supposed to be in a flood plain, flooded, and the ones that were supposed to be didn't? Hmmmm, wonder how that happened.

Tomorrow is my day back to no sugar. No excuses.

As it turns out I had a cousin's graduation party to attend this evening so I got my favorite cake & ice cream as my last ditch effort treat.

My intention was to be in bed early tonight to go to gym in a.m.: however, the gym is next to a huge body of water so I don't even know if they have been effected. I would be so pissed if I drove down there at 4:45 a.m. to find them closed. Look at that, I am making excuses already! What a lame-o.

I finally got caught up on everyone's blogs this weekend! Sorry I haven't responded to many as my computer started acting funky and wouldn't allow me too.

Stardust the only way I got thru my herniated disc in my neck was vicodin, 6 wks of PT that didn't really help, and neck surgery. The surgery was so worth it! I was instantly w/o pain after many months of it. Down side, I had become very dependent on vicodin--life sucked for awhile after surgery w/ no vicodin.

Brandi, Love ya, hang in there. Stay well, don't let this stress effect your physical health.

Tryinntryin, happy vehicle shopping. I am in such need of a new vehicle but I am too cheap. It will either have to disintegrate around me or be forced out of commission like yours. What are the new Saturn Vue Hybrids like--I have been eye ballin them.

Angela, what an awesome job on the running. You too Lindy! You both inspire me!

Jen, little changes, done consistently, over the long haul, are the answer. Eventually they will become like 2nd nature.

Angela I loved your little saying recently--your adaptation on dressing for the job you want not the job you have. Exercise for the body that you want rather than the body you have. I really think I have been limiting myself b/c of the body that I currently have. You have definitely given me something to chew on--no pun intended! LOL

The Happening

Mark Walberg....M Knight Shamalan...need I say more? I am stoked about this movie. Has anyone else noticed that MKS's last couple of movie commercials on tv have made a big deal about from MKS but now this one doesn't even mention his name? They only mention that this new moviet is from the director of The Sixth Sense--his two top box office hits. Hmmm....

About an hour before Zumba tonight we had typhoon, tornadic weather move through our area. There were lotsa of limbs, traffic lights, & business signs came down in the matter of 5 minutes. Believe it or not, I think this was a blessing is disguise. The tv station was too busy running down stories to attend Zumba this evening. Woohoo!

Don't feel like I got a great workout; however, I wasn't putting my all behind it. I was afraid to do much hip shaking or butt shaking--don't wanna risk straining my back . Right now it is feeling pretty good. Hopefully I will be back on track for Fri nite or Mon nite.

Just finished a book that I think is worth passing on. It is a biography entitled Escape by Carolyn Jessop. It is an amazing book about a tenacious woman who escaped from the polygamist colony in Colorado City. Her everyday struggles explain why the wives look like they are in their 80's--they age well before their time. The award for 10nacity goes to Carolyn Jessop!

I am so far behind on blogs. Once parents have started heading south I will have more free time of an evening to devote to my EPeeps. Can't wait to hear what you have all been up to!
