Boyfriend....that's a bit of a stretch

Dinner was amazingly fattening. I couldn't enjoy it for fear of the fat I was putting in my mouth. The salad and broccoli were wonderful but I just couldn't enjoy the fettecuine--eating for fuel brings no pleasure. Or at least not the pleasure & comfort I have been accustomed to.

Last night I had two glasses of wine. I'm thinking that the natural sugars were too much for me. I have done nothing but crave sweets all day. I even dreamed about them last night.

Had a nice visit with S.  Any hope of a possible relationship has died. AFter all this time and life experience I had hoped for more than what is there. He just isn't for me. He is a fun party guy. Great to hang out with friends but no real substance.

My girlz will have to keep their eyes open for my 6'4 bald man!

Dang-it!

This morning I blogged but it didn't go thru. What's up w/ that?

The last few days have been hectic. I have stayed on track w/ eating and working out. By the time I get home I am exhausted. Thurs night S called as I was heading out to the gym. We talked for 3 hrs! Obviously, my gym was closed by the time I got off the phone.

S was calling to say that he is coming in town this weekend. He decided to take me up on my offer of dinner next time he was in town.

Last night I had an hour and a half workout--both cardio & all weights (upper & lower body). This morning I just stuck with cardio. The elliptical went a lot quicker today for some reason.

Spent forever in the grocery store trying to pick out everything I needed. I have decided to make a humongous salad, fettucine alfredo w/ crab, & steamed broccoli. Fortunately, he doesn't like sweets so I don't have to feel pressured into making a dessert that I wouldn't be able to eat. I figured if nothing else we could go for coffee later.

Better get to work. I have some straightening up to do then I have to deliver Nate to a friend's house.

Not a site for those with weak stomachs

Today was a total pre-prep day. You would have been so proud of me Angela. Forgot a few things but we all survived. (namely Nate's lunch $$--there was a 2hr delay so the whole morning was off kilter).

Took my lunch and gym bag full of clothes with me to work. Bag included all the necessary items including the inhaler I have forgotten the last couple of times.

Good traffic flow between office & gym. Yay! I am going to get a big headstart on the five oclockers. Get inside. Damn! forgot mint gum. Got to the locker room--ah man, I packed my sports bra--100 percent cotten, straight out of the dryer. Ah man, does that gay lady have to keep looking my way? (don't get me wrong, that is her business--I wouldn't want to undress in front of a man--ya know what I am saying?)

I will cure her of staring--me trying to get my damn sports bra on! That is definitely not for anyone w/ a weak stomach! For some odd reason I felt it necessary to hold my breath while performing this feat. Panic started to wash over me when I had been holding it too long--ok, you idiot, you can breathe, you just have to do it!

Bald guy was there tonight. He is still so fine but to be honest I hardly notice him anymore. I am so focused about getting my workout done and getting out of there that I don't look around much.

Breakfast: 2 C coffee, sweetner, creamer

Lunch: Ezekial tortilla w/ LC light swiss ch wedge, sprouts, cucumber a serving of cheese flavor rice Quakes, and slice of watermelon

After workout: banana

Dinner: another tortilla, ham salad, slice colby/jack cheese & cucumber

My workout pants were super baggy tonight. Yay!

Will it ever end?

Have I mentioned lately that I hate this friggin weather? It has been hailing & sleeting all day w/ temps below freezing. I am sucha sissy, I am going to take another rest day.

Decided to eat comfort food for dinner--french onion dip w/ cucumbers & carrots. Bought Nate a frozen pizza to fend for himself--completely forgot the damn oven has quit working! This oven came with the house. I highly suggest Frigidaire b/c I swear this one is from 1910. It has worked so nicely. The stove top still works but the electric thingee in the oven won't heat up.

Weeks ago I requested that the market get Ezekial tortillas (I think Stardust or TravelGirl suggested). Woohoo! They are in. Tomorrow lunch will consist of a tortilla, laughing cow cheese wedge, alf-alfa sprouts, & cucumber. Mmmmmm my mouth is watering already.

Breakfast: 2 c coffee, sweetner, & cream

Lunch: 1/2 order beef Me-Fun (Chinese rice noodles)

Dinner: lotsa veggies & dip

We are in for a winter storm watch--it is currently raining, w/ temps barely above freezing.

My shins are killing me! What was I thinking to not take a rest day in between Sat & Sun?

Opting for rest day today. Nate is giving me huge fits right now! Tonight would be a wonderful night to go kick the sh*t out of an elliptical machine! My rational self finally convinced my irrational self that a rest would be good. Most likely I would hurt myself tonight if I went.

Breakfast: 2 C coffee w/ sweetner & cream & banana

Lunch: 1/2 large chef salad w/ grilled chicken breast & garlic bagel chips

Dinner: other 1/2 large chef salad

What have you done lately to make you feel proud?

This morning I got up early (9:30 on a Sunday is really early). Called Sandy, my workout buddy who lives down the street, and we set off for a 5 mile walk. The weather is sooooo nice. Somewhat warmish (mid-40's) & breezy.

Walked a little over 3 mi to the first restroom at the local park. It was not nearly as horrifying experience as I anticipated. As far as public restrooms go, it was fairly clean. At that point I had to go so bad that a porta-potty would have been a sight for a soar bladder.

Walked another 2mi to local supermarket. We were both getting really shaky & lightheaded. Purchased some Jelly Belly Sport Beans and another h20--the remaining mi was a piece of cake after that. It ended up we did 6.0 mi exactly in 1:30:07--not the greatest; however, we really weren't pushing ourselves. Both of us were achy in our feet, ankles, & shins from yesterday.

Breakfast: 1 slice whole grain bread w/ peanut butter & banana

Snack: 2 bottles h20 w/ 6 sport beans

Lunch: 1/3 serving of leftover baked spag from last night and 5 bites of watermelon and one very stale rice cake.

Can't decide what to do next! Onward & downward!

Walking, Eating, Shopping & Napping

Can life get much better than that?

This morning was the 5K at a local base. When I first arrived I thought, "what were you thinking?" There were all these really hot, really, really young guys standing around w/ bodies to die for. It never occurred to me that most of the people participating were active, very fit military. Loved the scenery, realized how old I really am.

The great news is that Sandy and I finished 5k @ 51:04 minutes. We jogged the last 50 ft or so--people started cheering & clapping. We danced all over the start/finish line mat w/ our chips to make it go crazy!

We then drove to another town where we had an old fashioned diner breakfast. By then I was chilled to the bone. You know, the kind where you just can't get warmed up. It was a beautiful morning but it turned out being much chillier than I realized.

When we sat down to eat the guy asked what I wanted and I said very hot coffee--he just laughed, as if they would sell cold coffee. All week I have worried b/c I felt like I didn't eat enough. When I get done working out I am just not in the mood to eat. Then by the time I think I should get something it is too late.

I ate really well. I had a full order of buscuits & gravy w/ scrambled eggs and a couple of bites of a ham steak.

Power shopping for new spring clothes. Most of the tops I got were baby doll tops or those cropped, flaired jackets w/ one or two large buttons at the top. I got them in the size I am getting ready to go into; however, the nature of their style will allow me to wear them for a while.

By the time we got home I still had bone chills. What a great time for a fat nap w/ my very warm, very huge flannel comforter. Ahhhhhhhhh, If every day could be a repeat of today!

Slight Loss

I am watching the stinker butt nephew this evening--actually jumped on bro & sil scale after a long work day. After drinking 3 lg coffees & 2 x-lg diet cokes. Now that I look at my last weigh date the 2.2 loss has been since Monday.

Looking back over the last year I am pretty much at the same point I was last year. I have 10 more lbs to be down to same weight as the Mini last year. I remember getting my racing photos back--ugh, I looked so huge. Last year I swore that I would be much smaller this year. I have gotta kick something up a notch in order to be down another 30 lbs--well, maybe that isn't realistic anymore. Need to regroup......

Day of Rest

Since Sandy & I are doing the 5K in the a.m. I decided to take today as rest day.

Breakfast: 1/2 Hardees omlette biscuit w/ 2 lg cups of coffee

Lunch: 1/3 helping of Fazoli's Penne w/ alfredo sauce--yuck! tried to carbo-load but it tasted ucky. Had two breadstix w/ an extra lg diet coke

Dinner: ceaser's salad w/ ff honey mustard dressing--couple bites of ucky penne leftover. Ended up throwing it all away b/c it wasn't at all appealing.

When Nate comes home this evening w/ a friend I am going to order them a pizza so maybe I will eat a piece of it.

Today was casual day at work. Wore the dark, denim jeans that I bought for last weekend's outing. The dang things are too big already! Maybe I can actually dry a pair of jeans for a change. I meant to have a friend take a pic b/c I looked pretty darn cute--hair, make-up, & all but I forgot!

3/5 No weights, All cardio

Tonight must be THE night to hit the gym. It was practically empty. Fortunately, j*ck*ss sissy man wasn't there, unfortunately, psycho dude was.

I felt so sorry for this old man. He was working out on a machine directly in front of the psycho's elliptical. The old man turned his back in order to do the decent thing and clean his machine. The psycho dude starts taking his aggression out on the machine again. This poor old man jumped to the side--he thought he was going to be run over!

Met my 25 min goal on elliptical then jumped on re-bike for 13 min. Even kicked the tension up a notch. I thought working out w/o a magazine to look at was bad. Trying to workout without people to watch sucks too! (Haven't seen the bald guy for about a week)

If I'm not mistaken there is an IU/Purdue game tonight--that would account for a lot of the missing men.

Breakfast: 1 C coffee, sweetner, w/ creamer

Snack: cheddar rice cakes

Lunch: 3/4 C seafood salad from market deli & garlic bagel chips (I know they don't go together but I just had a hankering for both)

Snack: cheddar rice cakes

Pre-workout snack: PB sandwich

Dinner: Too tired to eat and not hungry for that matter
