I've lost that thinnish feeling
This afternoon I decided to walk downtown to a European cafe for a side to go w/ my imitation crab. The had the most amazing szechuan tomato & cucumber salad. The spicy sauce made an awesome dip for my crab.
Lo and behold the Asian market was next door. Yay, I can look for those Shiratacki tofu noodles that Stardust suggested. Let me just say the tofu noodles our market offers look nothing like Stardust's pics. Let's just say it looked like something that TryingNTriing would grow in her lab! Aack! I can't even begin to tell you how ucky it looked. Needless to say I didn't walk out with a tofu noodle purchase.
The is a really old store. I don't know how much turn around that they actually have in stock. I'm afraid the "Use By" and/or "Expiration" dates were in a language I couldn't read.
It was a beautiful, sunny, breezy day. It literally felt like I was walking on air. My body felt so "light"--less than 5 hrs later I felt like the most enormous person in our town.
After work I reported to the park to walk w/ training group. We had a 6 mi walk this evening. Piece of cake--or so I thought. We ended up doing a route that included a lot of hills. The initial hill put me a quarter of a mile behind the group. My calves were screaming from weight training last night so I was just trying to take it slow--no injuries tolerated this close to the mini.
Suddenly a pair of teenage guys drove by. The found it very comical that I was the last one and so far behind. Mom up! Sister!
Then our walk took us through the cemetary that my parents have made arrangements to be...well, they are not being buried. They are going to be housed in a mausoleum--would that be 'entombed'? Ugh! I just stood there and looked at their plots. I just about had a panic attack. It was horrible. I don't know how you that have already lost parents can continue. My very good friend, at work, just lost her mom a couple of weeks ago. Three days of bereavement is not even gonna put a dent in the depressive state I will fall into.
At that point I was at least a half to three quarters of a mile behind. By the time it was all said and done I came in last at least a mile behind everyone else. I can at least say I finished! My physical body kept telling me to turn around and just go back to the car. My mind kept screaming, "You are not a quitter, you are 10nacious!"
Breakfast: SB pb protein bar
Snack: pork rinds w/ dip
Lunch: imitation crab w/ szechuan tomato & cuc salad
Pre-walk snack: Luna Lemony Zest bar
Dinner: a few saltines w/ ham salad
I found the most fabulous juice--Minute Maid Pomegranite Blueberry, OMG! The only way it could be any better is if there was a little tequila with it! Yum!
Onward & downward!
