August 13, 2009 - Take II

My nephew has been with us all week and there is such a large age difference between him and my kids that I am finding it really difficult to come up with stuff to do with all 4 kids.

We were supposed to go visit my cousin and her baby in Gananque today but at 7:30am she called and cancelled because her daughter had been up a lot last night and she needed to go back to bed once she got her daughter down for a nap. Alright, time to reschedule the day

I decided that I would take the kids to Lemoines Point and go for a walk, feed the birds and look for snakes and frogs. What could be better for 3 boys aged 11, 4.5 and 3?! We got there and ended up walking for OVER 2 hours!!! It was AWESOME!

My nephew caught a frog and we tossed it into the lake to see it swimming, we fed the ducks bread and sunflower seeds, almost got pooped on by seagulls, we saw a snake on the path but didn't touch it. We saw chipmunks, red squirrels (the ones that nitter-natter at you until you walk away LOL!), brown squirrels, a bright red cardinal, a beautiful black and neon yellow bird and numerous dogs with their owners. We found a monarch catepillar and brought it home to see if we can watch it transform into a butterfly.

What a great day so far! Next up after naptime for Alvalee...... Library!

I got some great exercise in today, but I do plan on either doing some Wii Fit or Jillian Michael's work out tonight... not sure which yet.

August 13, 2009 - Weigh in Day

I am down 1 pound to 204.0 Not fantastic, but I am happy about it.

August 11, 2009

Today has been a banana bread day. I had it for breakfast and I ate it for lunch and I just finished the loaf for snack :(

I am craving munchies badly. I really want to walk to the store and buy some sour cream and bacon ruffles and sit and eat the whole dang bag. But I won't. I won't eat the whole bag. I won't walk to the store and buy them.

Tonight for dinner, homemade fries, tossed in olive oil and salt and baked until nicely browned. Gravy for the fries and some leftover meatballs from 2 nights ago. Should be good as long as I don't eat too much.

Tonight my plan is to set the Wii Fit board up infront of the TV and while I am watching Hell's Kitchen and Deadliest Catch, I am going to set up the "free step" and do that for the entire 2 hours. I think I will get a good workout. I am hoping to get at least 8,000 steps just doing it that way.

I had been setting the Wii board up on 2 books but maybe I will head over to Walmart and see how much the actual step lifter is for the Wii.... and I will bypass the chips while I am there.

August 10, 2009

Today is the first day of 6 days that I will have my nephew here with us. His mom is sending food for him for his lunch.

This morning I thought it would be fun for the kids and I to make banana bread. Noah got to read the recipe for us, crack eggs and add the vanilla and flour. Travis got to add 1 egg, baking soda, white sugar and pinapple. Emmett got to add 1 egg, baking powder, salt and brown sugar.

I added the banana.

It turned out well. Noah didn't like it though.

More for us :)

Also, I have a phone interview for a part-time job this afternoon. I am excited about it and really hope the recruiter thinks I am a good match for this job - at least as good as *I* think I will be.

August 9, 2009

It has been a lovely weekend here. Calm. Nothing specific to do.

Brian, the kids and I drove to look at a house in Roblin today. At first I didn't think it would be too far out from where we are right now but it took us 37 mins to get there. Too much for me, especially once you factor in that we only have 1 vehicle and major snow for 6 months of the year. Then we drove back in through Odessa and went to an open house there - that house only has 3 bedrooms and would be just too small for us. And since we were so close to Wilton, we had to swing by and get some cheese curd Yummy.

I will be on track Monday through Friday this week. That is my promise to myself.

August 7, 2009

Today hasn't been a bad day. Kids and I went to playgroup, came home and had lunch and now just waiting for Alvalee to wake up, we are going to play in the backyard for about an hour and then pick up the CSA. Hopefully there will be tons of awesome fresh veggies to make a great stir fry with tomorrow night for dinner.

Tonight, pizza Friday. Light on the cheese, fresh tomatoes, onions and peppers on my pizza tonight. YUMMY.

August 6, 2009

Weighed myself today and I am up to 205.0 again It makes me so sad that I seem to be having so much trouble breaking that 200 mark, always fluctuating between 200 and 205.

I really felt like crying all morning long. Today I am recommiting again. No choice. I cannot spend my life living like this. Cannot. Will not.
