Description:
The Zone Diet advocates a diet that comprises of 30% protein, 30% fat and 40% carbohydrates and asserts that the plan can help reduce the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. It is also believed that it can help improve athletic performance.
The Zone Diet doesn't state that you need to reduce the number of calories you are eating just change the types of calories you consume. Protein is allowed in controlled portions and carbohydrates are split into 'favourable' and 'unfavourable' groups, with dieters being permitted to consume larger amount of the first group than the second. Diary products are not ruled out but nor are they empahazised.
