Posted by: chinakat Date: 03/12/2010 00:07 Rating: I agree with the other reviewers so far. Jenny Craig is very expensive and can work, but usually not in the long run. When I signed up I needed a program that didn't require me to think about what I ate. I was very busy with work and kids, and I was overwhelmed by the amount of weight I had to lose and frustrated trying to figure out how to eat healthy and stay on a program. Even though the food was expensive, and you also had to purchase your own supplemental foods (salads, fruit, etc) I was pleased with my weight loss. Having the counselor to keep me motivated and on track was a huge plus. |

If you need to learn about portion control, why not get a measuring cup and use that for a while instead of having someone send you a pre-weighed and measured amount. |

The food is WAAAAAAY to expensive, and it's healthier to eat "cleaner" as opposed to pre-packaged meals. However, if you're starting out and want the "idiot's guide to weight loss" (and you don't have a family to make dinner for or you don't eat out a lot) this is a good plan to start with. Again, not sustainable though, in my opinion. |

Posted by: TatumsMom Date: 03/11/2009 17:16 Rating: I believe JC is a good program. Especially if you're just starting out and need some guidance on what to eat. The convenience of JC is great. The menu is right there in front of you and you don't have to think about what to eat. Meeting with your consultant weekly can really help motivate you, if you have a good match. That being said, it's very expensive and you still have to spend more at the grocery store. The sodium is rather high, as with any pre-packaged food. I think it can be great to kickstart your program. I just feel like if you have basic nutrition knowledge, you can do it on your own at a much cheaper price. |
